DoJoHi Rich and Neil, Is there any more documentation on this? I've been playing around with the CSS but my expertise in coding isn't good enough to get the desired effect. Getting closer to 100% of the screen width would be great. Anyway, don't hesitate to post back if you found some clever fixes 🙂 Regards, Dominic Jorge CTO Flower delivery Spain Madrid [ more ]
neilI have been able to figure out of couple of odd layout issues created by the site widening, but this one has me stumped (and may only be something Crowdstack can adjust). I haven't been able to figure out how to get IMAGES to automatically fill the width of a posting window when attaching them to a post. The images in question are wider than 600 pixels, but when I attach them and check "insert...large" they only display at 600px, which is less than the width of the posting window. Whereas,... Rich MelvinThanks, Neil. Things are going well over at OGR. Traffic is stable and there's a lot of posting going on there. I'll play with this CSS and see what happens. [ more ]

LoriHi, there! Yes, you (and your members) can get notifications for subgroups in the same way you do the main site: in your own account, go to Settings>>Notifications, and you'll see a tab for "SubGroup Follows". LanceOwnersI would also like to support this suggestion. I would also add that this same behavior should take place when declining an applicant to our forums. tabla8719Currently the volunteers will send private messages to folks to remind them/gather conversation ideas. In an ideal world, we could have one private message group thread for these updates (so not to spam the full community). We want to be able to continue to add people and let them drop out of the private chat if they want, similar to FB messenger group chats. Currently, we can't add more people after a group message has been started. [ more ]

Rosemary O'NeillThere may be a misunderstanding here...in Crowdstack databases there is no scripting. The interface for creating and managing databases is simply a series of checkboxes and menus, meant to be used by non-coders. I'm not sure what you're referring to as 'scripting'. [ more ]

LoriHi, Caitlin: Do both of users involved share a computer? If so, what may be happening is that the forwarder is logged in on your community site on the computer in question, and when the forwardee sits down and clicks the email, it'll open in the forwarder's account automatically. If this is not what happened (e.g. there is no sharing of machines), please email us at [email protected] or [email protected] so that we can discuss the specific details in a private support ticket. Brian LenzHi @squidwurrd , The API documentation you linked to is for Crowdstack Pro . It looks like you're using Crowdstack , which does not have an API, which is why you can't find it in the control panel. Sorry for the confusion! Brian [ more ]
Rosemary O'NeillHi Amy I'm going to answer in the support email we have going, but just in case anyone else had a similar question....go to your Settings, under Basics, and choose "Private" rather than "Public." That will put the entire community behind a login, so that "guests" or "visitors" can't see anything without registering. If you want to prevent new registrations, or limit to invitation-only, you can also go in Settings, to Registration Settings, and tick the box to restrict those options as well. [ more ]

neilThanks. That's a helpful reminder... but it's definitely a lot to wade through and not quick to get through and scroll down through. Whereas, as seen in the screenshot below, you have given us this other ubiquitous link to a "Configure..." our categories and forums --that leads to a much better/easier page layout of the categories and forum to manipulate and also lets us change permissions. I use the ubiquitous link almost every day, which is why I wish it has the existing permission info... [ more ]
Brian LenzHi @neil , I think all of the details you're looking for are already available in the Settings > Permissions > Topics section of your control panel: /cp/permissions/topics That page gives you a breakdown of all categories and forums, along with their permissions. It's not exactly the format you're describing, but it contains all of the info you're looking for. Note that it's a single page with all of your forums listed, so if you have a large number of forums, you'll have to be patient... [ more ]
neilOn a related note, it would be great if the Recent Post widget displayed a link to "See More Recent Posts" (than what you set to appear in the widget). The old display posts/replies feature had a "display all" link and it was very handy. Currently, you preset the widget to display a fixed number of posts (up to 50), but invariably our leaders are looking for something that posted "a few days ago" and it has scrolled off the "show last 10" setting we have for that widget. Brian LenzHi @Harvey Mercado , The issue is that you have duplicate signing keys specified in the XML. You'll need to remove one of them, as it's not valid to have multiple signing keys. Hope this helps! Brian [ more ]
Harvey MercadoThanks @Brian Lenz . One more thing, I am trying to upload a new metadata however, I'm getting the error below saying its invalid but cut short of telling me what exactly is invalid with this file and how to address it. I have attached the new metadata file here, in case you have the chance to check it out. Thanks again. [ more ]
Brian LenzHi @Harvey Mercado , There's a "backdoor" login form that you can use to sign in as an administrator to your Crowdstack: https://manchesterunity.crowds...n?showLoginForm=true You should be able to sign in there with your original Crowdstack email address and password, which should allow you in to the control panel to make further changes to your SSO integration. Hope that helps! Brian [ more ]
Rosemary O'NeillYes, you're right that the replies don't display formatting on the main page. I'll take this as a suggestion for the future! Meantime, for spoilers, I'd just artificially bump the spoiler text with asterisks or line returns so it doesn't appear on the main page. [ more ]

Rosemary O'NeillSuper cool idea John! Hopefully someone will chime in here...offhand, I like the way that @Paul Heymont at TravelGumbo incorporates the blog with their forums, maybe he could share a little insight. You can definitely copy in text and images to your blog, and organize the posts into "collections" with tags and dates. You can also store your PDFs in the Resource area, and those PDFs are indexed inside Crowdstack's search function (all of the text inside the PDFs). Crowdstack's notifications... [ more ]
LoriHi, @Valerie Krist : I just saw this and wondered if you'd gotten an answer someplace else? If not, you'll want to go to Settings>>Design>>Display Settings, and add that CSS to the field marked "Custom CSS". [ more ]
Valerie KristI'm trying to figure out where to put this CSS. I asked about adding badges to title names and I got this response and link to this article. Can you point me to where I can do this so it can be based off of points or triggers? Thanks! [ more ]
neil@Rich Melvin While I appreciate your appreciation, Rich, my reading of various posts from Julie, Plance, and you at OGR suggest that y'all are using the A.S. differently than we do (used to). Seems like you folks want some of the A.S.' functionality on User Profile Pages, whereas we liked it as a look-see widget on our homepage and embedded on a custom page. My eulogy doesn't mention your User Profile functions. That said, yes, I would love to see the "activity" publicly visible... [ more ]

I have to admit, I have not yet reviewed the blog regarding advertising on crowdstack!
