Our forum reg is heavily moderated. We have problems with spammers and banned people trying to come back. During reg, I ask questions I need to see answered to accept or reject. i read every registration's profile before accepting. Under your new system, I can't seem to do that. I can't click on a moderated member to read their whole profile, As a UX expert, I can't believe you removed that where there is no reason to remove it. where did it go? I must be able to read profiles of ppl in the...

A headline that is picked up on the success factor for any social network is the ability for members to engage and relate.  A suggestion to ease the ability to connect with other members based on their profile is to have the platform to pick up...

Good morning, I have a few member-information related questions. 1) I know I can see the date/time member's most recent login, but is there a way to see a more detailed history of their login activity over time? For instance, it would be useful to us to identify those who have logged in only a few times over a span of time, as opposed to what I do now, which is look for people whose last login was >X time ago. FYI - we currently disable the member points function. If the solution to this...

Is there a way to for a member or admin to see profile views - how many times a profile or page has been viewed. We have seen this for blog posts and events. Where else can you see page views? Also these page views do or do not include views from email?

Good morning, The member Moderation Queue and Pending Parental Approval queues will now link to the members edit profile page (since the member does not have a active account). Cheers, Jonmark

Any idea when the Pinterest feature will actually be in place, as would like to announce to my members. Thanks.

In your Eve Control Panel, go to Eve >> Members >> Profile Settings. Certain fields are always required, but otherwise you can determine which profile fields you wish to have listed as either required or optional (or disabled entirely), by choosing from the lists. You can also create custom profile fields.

Hey Deb, This is actually a known issue, and should be fixed in the 1.3.6 release. The issue is that due to a MySQL bug search ends up being case sensitive, where we have designed it to be insensitive. So if the keyword you are searching for happens to have a upper case character in the field you think it should match in, it will not match. Frustrating, but it is fixed in the next version. Cheers, Jonmark

Hi Ted, I'm guessing this is not possible, but it would be great if we could use Circles to apply the GDPR settings only to members to whom it applies. As it stands, we're telling clients in Europe that they will have to drop membership if they want these features, because we are not willing to enable these restrictions for everyone when less than 1% of our clients are in Europe. If we had the ability to have a Europe Circle, and only enable this for them, that would be ideal. Thanks, Mary

Hi @MHK@CS2 , there's currently no way to set permissions up or use recipes as you've described. I'm not a lawyer, but I'm not even sure that approach would work from a GDPR perspective. You would technically need to identify members by first collecting some information about them in order to determine whether to give them the "GDPR treatment" or not. I'm not sure that would pass muster. It's definitely an interesting idea, so you could always suggest it separately in the support section of...

Hi Brian, I understand what you're saying. We're in a different situation than most of your clients, I believe. Our community is 100% business related; all members are paying clients and they engage us to provide jurisdiction-specific regulatory information. Members cannot join our community on their own - they have to execute a contract for our services first, which includes agreeing to our terms of use of the community. Our members are chief compliance officers of (highly regulated)...

My best recommendation would be to consult a lawyer about what your GDPR requirements are. If you are not doing business in the EU or directly marketing to users in the EU, you may not need to comply. You also might consider your specific workflow. If these users are doing direct business with you, you could make it clear in your separate onboarding / contracting process that their personal information will need to be used in your internal system (Hoop.la) as a contingency of being a...

Hello- You cannot use MySpace themes. You can customize or create your own Hoop.la themes in the Themes section of our site's control panel (Manage > Admin Control Panel > Themes). In terms of upload issues you are having... I am not sure what the problem might be. We have no other reports of file upload issues and I have tested and see no issues. My best guess is that if you uploaded some bad CSS on your site it might be conflicting with Hoop.la in some way. Try using a stock theme...

Are you thinking of having "tag" slots for the user to complete in the same way they can upload "stuff I love" photos? The more you flesh out your idea, the easier it would be for others to vote it up, and for us to consider it. For example, how would the tags show up in the interface? Do they appear in a widget on the user profile? Are they linked text under the user's name in the profile?
  • Support Ticket Reply
Thanks Rosemary With current functionality, users can upload clips to the "Stuff I Love" widget but also be provided the "Tags" functionality that is found in the Blog & Forums screens, which would pick up key words from my clip captions (from the 'Stuff I Love') but also allow me to add/delete tags. Key assumption is that all users can contribute to "Stuff I Love" and that other users can view. I went to view the "Stuff I Love" widget on other users and could not find on their profile...

Great! This should be a huge improvement. Question: Are there any restrictions on the geo search, or is it expected to work properly in all parts of the world (provided people have entered a viable postal code)? Asking because my community is very international and I'd like to fully introduce these features in a post. Thanks.
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Julia! The geo search should work well internationally; we spent some effort updating and vetting our postal codes for that purpose.

Hello, Hoop.la currently does not track views of a member's profile page. If you are using Google Analytics, you can probably get statistics on the views of an individual member's profile page in your Google Analytics data. For content like blog posts and calendar events, the view count only includes actual views on the community; it does not include "views" via email notifications. I hope this helps! Let me know if there are any other questions I can help with Regards, Brian
