For your blog posts and clips, we have an "image-centric" mode that displays the title as an overlay on the images, like so: It looks great that way, but some sites like to add background shading to the title text as well, so it looks more like this: To achieve that affect, you'll want to add this CSS to your site: .title-image-title h2, .title-image-title h3 { padding:5px; background-color:rgba(95, 158, 160,0.4); } You can easily change the background color to what you want using the...
Okay, am I not online. I write a lot of replies in our community. I'd like to think I'm an original thinker, but it turns out a great deal of what I type is almost boiler-plate text. Here's something I wrote in 2018 in Library of stock messages/message This morning I documented how to make a post that had been forked to a new topic look like this. You can read about that here: Styling a post that has been forked to a new discussion There's a step where you have to edit the post and put some...
Hi Chris- The main difference is that members cannot subscribe based on content type (in the new "digest" mode). Members can still choose to be notified instantly about all new posts, or about new comments/replies to posts they are following. Here's hwo the notification settings look when you switch to this mode:
If we change to the new forum display mode and don't like it, can we change back to legacy mode with no loss of information or data or formatting? Assuming so, but wanted to check before I do anything that might cause me more work. Thanks!
Lighting a candle for the dearly departed Activity Stream There are certain things about you that will be missed: 1. You announced New Premium Members and Newly Registered Members. You were a not-so-subtle encouragement to get others to "join in" too. You gave instant recognition to newbies. You gave community leaders a convenient place to see and follow up on newbies listed there. ( Where do they go now? ) You were a visible way to generate a sense of "community" -- which is something that...
Will there be any posssibility to mix and match? I like the card idea for our clips, for instance, but want to keep our carefully-curated 'front page' which weights different elements differently.
Hi @Paul Heymont - there is no option for mix and match, nor will be there an offline preview option. If you need to experiment on a demo site, though, we can arrange that for you (after it is released).
Agree with Paul's comment below - a more modular approach to rolling out this feature would be preferred. I don't want to alter my home page, but might want to use this feature in the Clips or other areas (depending on how it looks and works, and how long it takes me to reformat it to fit the branding of my site).
@Julie Usher - It's not possible to do this on a module by module basis. If you want to try experimenting on a separate demo site, though, let us know and we can set you up with one.
@Julie Usher - please request a demo site to test Card Mode by creating a new support topic. This goes for any other existing customers that might want to kick the tires. Please note that we won't be able to set you up with a demo site though until after Card Mode is officially released (which should be soon). We will give access to a free demo site for two weeks, so only request it once you are ready to spend time to properly test it. Thanks!
I'm not ready to test it right now (it's coming at the busiest time of the year . . .), so it sounds like I shouldn't set up a support topic just yet. And I'm not able to monitor this site in the next few weeks to know when you release it. I think it would make more sense for you to open up a thread on the topic for everyone once you've released the feature - and just ask people to comment there if/when they want to test it. Thanks!
If you are one of those hyper-productive people using ActiveWords There's a step where you have to Edit the Forked Post . It took only a couple of minutes to automate that with an ActiveWord. If you're already using ActiveWords, here is the script for an ActiveWord called "fade box" <div class="fade-box"> {control down}{v}{control up}{control down}{enter}{control up} <p class="read-more"><a class="button" href="#">Read More. Don't reply to this post.</a></p>...
That was a long message, so I want to make sure I understood the bottom line. With the new model all members will be put by default into weekly digest mode, that is, they will get an email once a week summarizing all the posts that were made in the past week. As the administrator I would like to get an email each time a post is made. Will I still be able to change my settings to make that happen? Mark
Hi @Harvey Mercado , The API is not meant to be used for Single Sign-On; rather it's more of a tool for pushing and pulling data to/from Crowdstack programmatically. Crowdstack uses SAML 2.0 for SSO, so in order to hook up your Crowdstack via SSO, you will need to implement a SAML Identity Provider on your registration and login system. In SSO mode, Crowdstack will act as a SAML Service Provider. SAML 2.0 is an open standard with tons of information widely available. You can learn more about...
Hi @Harvey Mercado , You won't be able to do an IdP-initiated login request, which is what you're asking for. I wouldn't worry about this auto-sign in scenario just yet. I'd focus first on the basics of getting the SAML IdP AuthnRequest processing and Assertion response working. Get that set up and working. Then , you can start looking at how to handle automatic logins. When you get there, you'll have a couple of options: Probably the best option is to enable "Auto Sign-In Mode" in...
This answer assumes you haven't enabled " Digest Mode ." Subgroups have default new member settings for notifications, so you (the admin) can control the default notification behavior in the subgroup (min, medium, or max). Also, similar to the way it works at the top level, members can tweak their own preferences for each subgroup as well. When the member goes to their profile, under Settings > Notifications, there is a tab devoted to subgroups. All notifications will respect the member's...
Hey Rich... long time! How are things over at OGR? Below is the pertinent custom CSS. I post it with caveats: Caveat 1: We aren't using the "cards" mode/version of Cstack. Like you, we're using what I believe used to be called "version 1" or the legacy format, (i.e. no cards enabled). Caveat 2: We're not running any third-party features (code). If someone is, then our width adjustment may create unintended (but not necessarily unfixable) changes. Caveat 3: Over the years, we've created quite...
I have not been here for a couple of years. Someone else I have given our Forums to. I am also wondering if there is a way to switch back to the older style. https://guyana.crowdstack.io/home Where each topic was listed line by line for each sub forum. Rather than having it the way it is now. Thanks
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
Note: if you proceed, you will no longer be following .
