Thought I'd share a few of the CSS customizations we've made to our site which may be helpful to others, ...with the hope that a few of you would post your favorite customizations too. Please include your site's URL. (Would also welcome comments from Hoop if any of these need adjusting.) Our site: www.rotation.org /*hides # of views and bookmarks on a topic*/ .h-topic-metadata { display: none; } /*makes "Current Visitors" profile pics widget bigger*/...
When you are adding a custom header, footer, widget or page, you may want to make use of the built-in CSS utility classes in Crowdstack. This should make your coding much easier. I'll break them down by classes native to Foundation , which is the responsive framework Crowdstack uses, and those that are built into Crowdstack. Foundation CSS Classes .text-right : equivalent to text-align:right .text-left : equivalent to text-align:left .text-center : equivalent to text-align:center .flex-video...
Hi, Did you convince someone in your organization to have a community using the words engagement or participation? We have a community where people ask questions, and we hope they get answers. It's not easy to tell if someone with a question visits us, finds the answer, and goes back to their lives - without a trace. They may not leave evidence of having been engaged by the content or feel it necessary to participate. How would you measure value in a community like this? Thanks for your...
Well I don't really know what this place is for, but I hope everybody enjoys it and finds it useful and informative. Rosemary I know it makes travelling hazardous, but I wish it would snow here for Christmas.
The Cauldron of Doom was from my office. I filled it with all sorts of goodies that Boaz left behind from Paranormal Office. At least I hope those things were from Paranormal Office.
I would like to commend you for the spirit of your efforts. Hopefully, your smaller payroll will allow you to make this system work. But for most corporations, I firmly believe this approach would be doomed to failure. This policy will turn into a nightmare for any who would rebel against the oppression seen in corporations who create policies based on the performance of the LCD. The standard will be set not by "Disciplined people who engage in disciplined thought and who take disciplined...
I hope it works -- I think it is a great way to treat employees. I don't think our bunch is ready for it. Too many little squabbles and turf wars going on. How do you handle abuse? At some point, if it is abused, some kind of action has to occur. I know that you have exceptional employees and don't anticipate any problems, but do you have a plan for what to do if someone does abuse it? Thanks, Donna

Hi ST, If you want to support signatures on comments and replies, you'll need to disable the following option in your site's Display Settings: Hope that helps! Brian
Hi Brad, On the Survey Settings page, you can set the default permissions for newly created surveys (for who can complete the survey and view the survey results). You do not set the actual Create Survey permission there, however. To control who can Create Surveys, you need to go into the Permissions section of your control panel. Select the Permission Circle that you want to be able to create surveys and then click the Permissions tab. For example, for All Members, that URL is:...
Good morning Paul, Glad you like the calendar changes, we are very excited about them here as well. The reason that the sub menu item does not respond to a users permissions is that its a custom menu item. Custom menu items cannot be hidden or shown by Hoop.la based on a users access to the web page that they link to. The "Calendar" built in menu item will show or hide based on a user's ability to view at least one calendar on your site. Hope this helps, Jonmark
Hi Chrissanne, For your notifications, you might want to double check that your "comments/replies" notifications are turned on, in addition to the primary content ones. To gather up your latest content for a weekly update, the easiest way would be to go to your control panel, under Manage Content, and do a search by date. Make sure that you tick the box that says "include comments/replies." That will give you a list that you can work with. Then for the email, you can incorporate quotes with...
Hi Brisotti, The code should go into your Display Settings control panel in the Custom CSS box. You need to make sure you use the permission circle's group ID instead of "premium" if it's not a premium permission group. For your Patrocinador circle, that numeric ID is 350043526109298115, which you can see in the URL when editing the permission circle's details. I changed your selector to .h-member-badge-350043526109298115, which fixed the problem (you also had replaced the 'h' with "webkits"...
Hi @MHK@CS2 - The Crowdstack application does not currently use the term "role" in any sense. Recipes do not either. Recipes have triggers, conditions and actions, but not "roles". You can target specific circles in a recipe (as a "condition" and through certain "actions"). But, to reiterate, this is nothing but a terminology change-- all references to what Crowdstack currently calls "Circles" will be called "Roles" when this release is deployed. It wil not change the behavior of any of your...
There is no known bug concerning emails/notifications (not sure who told you there was). We did add discussion forums in the last couple of months though, so I am guessing you are noticing notifications from the forums (though there are not that many posts there). In any event, you can update your personal notification settings anytime here: https://hey.crowdstack.com/member-cp/follows Hope that helps!
Hi, DBenoit. Thanks for giving us some more information about you and your goals in your profile . From your profile What's your community's big goal? The goal of this community is to foster the exchange of experiences, issues, information, and inspiration toward overcoming personal health challenges in the hunting and fishing communities. Have you found any places (physical or virtual) where like-minded people congregate? I'm picking up on Rosemary's thoughts about brick and mortar...
Hi @Julie Usher , The Personalized Activity Stream is a feature that requires a rebuild process to complete before it becomes available. In the case of your site, since you are on a multi-tenant shared plan, it's not available just yet. Once it is available, you will see the Scope dropdown that Ted showed in his screenshot. Here is the Activity Stream page on your site: http://cookieconnection.juliau....com/activity-stream The new Personal Activity Stream page Ted referred to is linked on...
Okay, so basically you're saying I can't see/use any of this functionality now, is that right? If so, when do you think it will be rolled out to me/others in my camp? Also, can individual members personalize their own streams? And would they do it from the link you just gave me, or from their member profiles? I don't have that link in view on my site, except via linking through on the widget on one page, because it didn't seem too useful. But, if members can each alter it to personal taste,...
BTW, I'm asking the timing question to know when to alert people to these changes. If this one is way off, then I'll announce the photo one now. If this one is coming soon, I'll wait and announce them together.
The biggest difference is portability. Since it's a widget, you can now put the personalized activity stream anywhere you want in the interface. Also, I think it appeals to people who are more used to the "feed" mentality, where you can see a page with "just your stuff" on it. You don't have to turn the personalized activity stream on or off, it should just be there if your users want to see it (if you are using the Activity Stream at all, which you turn on or off in the Structure area of...
Lighting a candle for the dearly departed Activity Stream There are certain things about you that will be missed: 1. You announced New Premium Members and Newly Registered Members. You were a not-so-subtle encouragement to get others to "join in" too. You gave instant recognition to newbies. You gave community leaders a convenient place to see and follow up on newbies listed there. ( Where do they go now? ) You were a visible way to generate a sense of "community" -- which is something that...
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
Note: if you proceed, you will no longer be following .
