I'm going to post a few different "how to use this site" blog posts to familiarize my users with adding calendar events, etc.  It would be really helpful to be able to mark which collections to feed through those widgets via check boxes - right...

Hi, we've just ported over to hoop.la from Eve and I am wondering if there is any way to control what events appear in the activity feed? For our forum it would be preferable if announcements of the purchase of premium memberships and members following other members did not show up in the feed. Any info on controlling this (if it is possible to do so) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I think this is self-explanatory but....  If you disable comments for a post, in my mind, the Comments hyperlink should not appear on the post when fed through the widget.  It does.  Of course, when you click on it, you will be shown...

Hi! I am wondering if there is a way to create an RSS feed for the calendar on a site.  More than just embedding, I want to make it possible for our city's website to pull in our data for our site's events.  Any way to make this happen,...

Good morning! There is a link to the Eve owners guide on the "summary" page when you first go into the control panel. I'm also attaching the PDF for you here. To set a Custom Graemlin go into your control panel, under Display>>Custom Graemlins. You'll find more detailed info in the owners guide on page 39. Let me know if you need any more help!

You sure can! On your blog page, on the right hand column, you should see an RSS link. Just grab that and feed it into Hootsuite as I described above, and voila. Just let me know if you run into any trouble, and I can help further.

Yeah, let me think about it some more. I know users can't 'close' topics they started and there is a suggestion on that already - but would custom post statuses be something that might be useful for other Hoop.la users? For example, the site admin could create a status called 'No longer available' (I am using my site as a trade / exchange network in addition to forum). When the post creator has an item that is no longer available, they can then change the status of the post to be 'No longer...

The current HTML post editor is not recognizing these tags and so converts them to "text" e.g. < abbr title="Incorporated">Inc.</abbr > where the brackets are changed to& gt; (without the spaces). I've tried uploading CSS to control how acronym and abbr tags are displayed, but nothing I've done has overridden the post editor changing these to plain text. (I've put the CSS into the page theme itself; and in a linked external CSS file). The CSS I've used has...

We use our blog collections and clip sets in much the same way we use forum categories. Our blog collections could be separate blogs. We use the clip sets to run photo contests. It would be great to have the ability for members to be able to follow specific collections/sets the same way they can follow individual forums or forum categories. There is the ability to follow the RSS feed for a specific blog collection, but many members are not tech savvy enough to figure out how to do that to...

When I try to enter or exit the app, it always takes me back to a post from several weeks ago. It's not a post I created. I can navigate to the current feed by clicking on our logo, but I'm wondering why it's always taking me to the same old post. The post is "The Musk Deer."

I like that the Content Blocks "extract" info to display on the homepage, but the current result is nearly unreadable and not very enticing. It removes too much formatting and spacing. It get that it's an rss "feed," but surely there's something that can be done about it, because right now it's feeding mush, especially when a post has bullets. The problem is particular to posts which have headlines and any kind of formatting, such as bullets, in the top of their text. I would an option to...

In your control panel, under Forums, Content Management.Click the Content Island tab. Create the Content Island with whatever parameters you desire, then at the very bottom, checkmark Include in RSS menu. That will turn it into an RSS feed that people can subscribe to.

Useful beginners tips Rosemary. I can relate a little of my own experience here if you don't mind. ( notice the compliment and the almost apologetic way of stepping in Groupee was the first Bloggers site I had ever joined with confidence. It was the newness of the Social network on offer that gave me a feeling of belonging. Prior to that I could not "break the ice" anywhere else. I think blogging is easier than joining a forum. Unless the forum is very specific in it's nature. In a blog you...

Well you know what I think about Twitter. It belongs.... Well on Twitter no-where else as it messes other social sites up with it's constant twittering so yes right tool for the right job. Hi Richard, I am not familiar with the specific features or plugins for Wordpress that may support this, but I can speak to the ways that you can export data directly from Hoop.la. Pro Enterprise customers have access to our data API, which would be the most direct and straight-forward way to integrate. You are on a Standard plan, however, so it would require a plan upgrade to utilize the API. Alternatively, you can just use the RSS feed from Hoop.la. For your site:...

Hi! Essentially we want to track all activity on the site. From what I understand we can add what they call Munchkin Code on the back end and it will feed into our Marketo instance. http://developers.marketo.com/...racking-munchkin-js/
