Crowdstack uses a responsive grid to make sure that interfaces can automatically adapt to different screen and device sizes. We use Foundation's responsive system . Most of the time, you do not even have to worry about that. But there are a few areas where you really need to be cognizant of the overall page structure and responsive and those include your header, footer, and top banners that are displayed at the top of the page. Each of those items is full-width by default and so they will...
What do you think of this? If you're intrigued keep reading. If not; Move along folks. Nothing to see here. Fork to a New Topic We have the cool feature that let us fork a post to a new topic. and the post then gets a tag like this. The Problem But people will often reply to the post anyway - and that just makes things difficult. I just did this. When you click the Read More button it returns to To make this happen. Edit the forked post Edit the post Source Code Add the highlighted text...
If you ban a member when deleting content, it automatically notifies the member that they are being banned. We use this mainly to remove spammers or shut down problem members. Then they respond to the notification to argue. Make the default not to notify OR Add an option for the admin to choose whether to notify.
Hi guys and gals, I'm attempting to fix existing SEO issues diagnosed via a Neil Patel SEO analyzer. I'm trying to follow directions explicitly in creating an XML site map via Screaming Frog, but I'm getting the following error message. Is XML site mapping an issue for anyone else? I'm a total newb to all things tech, but Screaming Frog is supposed to be one of the easier tools to use for crawling and mapping... I hate to say it, but if I'm having issues with this, I'm probably going to run...
Reference: I think how we'd like to handle that is by tag-teaming those really slippery technical questions, training everyone to listen first, and truly making sure that even the unspoken concerns get addressed. Now I like that way of looking at it! Yes, tag-teaming... or brainstorming a problem! And thanks for your offers of help... Goodness knows I'm testing them at the moment!
If there was a way for users/members to decide for themselves whether or not they would allow followers, that would solve everyone's problem. allow followers [click here] or some such, on their profile settings.
Hi Brisotti, The code should go into your Display Settings control panel in the Custom CSS box. You need to make sure you use the permission circle's group ID instead of "premium" if it's not a premium permission group. For your Patrocinador circle, that numeric ID is 350043526109298115, which you can see in the URL when editing the permission circle's details. I changed your selector to .h-member-badge-350043526109298115, which fixed the problem (you also had replaced the 'h' with "webkits"...
Hi, DBenoit. Thanks for giving us some more information about you and your goals in your profile . From your profile What's your community's big goal? The goal of this community is to foster the exchange of experiences, issues, information, and inspiration toward overcoming personal health challenges in the hunting and fishing communities. Have you found any places (physical or virtual) where like-minded people congregate? I'm picking up on Rosemary's thoughts about brick and mortar...
Neil, we run banner ads in our Hoopla forum served from an outfit called "Adpeeps.com." When we first made the Hoopla change to https, the banners did not appear. The browser would not display a mix of "secure" and "non-secure" content. All I had to do was go into the Adpeeps code and add the "s" where appropriate and all was OK. Adpeeps now generates code that contains "https" so the problem has solved itself on both ends. External LINKS appeared just fine, even though the link was going to...
Plance has hit the nail on the head, when he says, "...Now...valuable Topic threads are buried amongst perhaps thousands of Topic Replies...This degradation of categorization is a profound disservice to the functionality and lifeblood of our forum..." This is exactly the problem. What you've done here is the equivalent of having a nicely organized filing system and taking all the files and dumping them into a single file folder. I'm sure you don't have your in-house computers set up that...
What if indeed!. Where I work, some valuable staff went from being potential members of a team of excellence to being mere call centre staff in the space of 6 months. People who were proud of their jobs and performance now consider themselves to be mere cogs in a machine, little appreciated and as such, no longer perform at their best and want out. All of this because of one manager who, to quote his own words. "Had his eye on those staff for some time, as they were achievers." He did not...
This gave me a lot to think about - thanks Rosemary! My problem is that I am looking for something specific.... farmers and gardeners that are from Vermont. But, figuring that any exposure is good exposure, I created a Squidoo lense that's a near copy of a blog post I made as well as created a new board on Pinterest (I love Pinterest anyway so this comes easy). I like to troll the VT Craigslist for new members (Farm and Garden section) and have also posted to the online bulletin board of...
I've been using my earbuds the last couple of days, because of this road construction noise, and it helps. On Facebook, I hide the game posts as they come up, that way I can keep it to the "nuggets". The only problem is that there's no way to do this on the phone app, so I have to log on via computer occasionally to fix this. I'm a bit surprised the iPhone app doesn't have a facility for this, but maybe they will in a future version.
"Thank you for nending this"? I have the same problem, and it gets worse every day, seems like. I wrote a quick grocery list the other day for Bob, and he called to ask me what "pupumber" was. (CUCumber, silly!) I am one that likes to write hand-written thank you notes, but they take FOREVER, and more than one draft, because I can't seem to slow my hand down to write neatly. Maybe we need scribes to follow us around and take dictation. You know, kids fresh out of penmanship classes.
Neil, I genuinely appreciate what you have done here. CSS is a little beyond my knowledge envelope and I really don't understand where to find the things to change, as you have done here. I have used a couple of your custom CSS codes in our site, with a nice improvement in its appearance. I have run into one problem, however. I have placed this code into our site: .h-ubb-directory-forum-box { background-color:#ffffff;border:1px solid #555555;padding:15px; } .h-ubb-topic-list-box {...
I'm glad we can now add members in the backend. In the past I've attempted to do this refreshing obsolete accounts with new personage to take over the account, but when I'd open a dialog with them, the system wouldn't allow me to message the member due to the same IP I guess. So I'm wondering, will I have the same problem under the new release if I register people.
I'm delighted the auto-close feature has arrived as it's something that's been at the top of the wish list for some time. However, I think there's a problem. I enabled auto-close for posts with no activity after 30 days. what has happened is that it has closed every single topic in the forum. Unchecking the box has not re-opened them. So... I now have many hours of going through and opening up each thread manually. Not very happy about that. Is this a bug and is there a way of opening up the...
Another good practice is to 'test' your Knowledge Base with actual people, such as employees or friends at home. Basically, you'd want them to play the role of a customer in need of support having a common problem. Then make them use the site to see if they can find the answer, all while you watch what they're clicking on and looking at. Google does this all the time to improve their web UI's, but they have some nifty glasses that actually register the eye movement of the attendees.
Brian, it warms my heart to see someone like you, who is very knowledgeable about the tech side of things on the internet, and who is much younger than I am, do something like this. The issues you raised are spot on and have motivated me to do the same thing. I got a Faceplant page about 2 years ago solely for family purposes. I think I have 8 "friends." My daughter was posting pics of the grandkids there at the time. However, due to the privacy concerns you linked to in your post, she has...
#3 "request deletion of all of their content by the admin" is a problem for message threads where a user's content is critical to the rest of the user's messages in that thread. They should not have the right to ruin other people's contributions if their post is important or replied to. What I would suggest is that they have the right to remove their NAME from posted content, not the content itself, in order to make their content anonymous. At our 'lesson' content site, we view all posts as...
That item is a "request" by the member for the admin to delete their content. You can refuse to delete their content, if you feel it's within your rights. We're just providing the mechanism that will support compliance with GDPR; what you choose to do with it is your decision as the owner/admin. Unfortunately, when technological solutions are legislated, they don't always think of the consequences for all scenarios. Sadly, online communities were not really given deep consideration when...
Thanks ROSEMARY! re: Noodling... yes! I have a volunteer who is going to "dig for hidden treasures" on our site to bring them to people's attention. Our site has a lot of good older content, and such things can easily get buried. What I WISH was that there was some way to "mark" certain posts and topics so that they would appear in a custom content stream to only displayed those marked items. Another way to "sort of" do this is to create a topic dedicated to displaying links to "highlights...
Hi @Harvey Mercado , It looks like your SAML IdP doesn't support signing? You'll need to enable that in order to ensure the integrity and authenticity of requests from your IdP. Once you've enabled signing, your SAML metadata should include the signing certificate. Once you have the new SAML IdP metadata XML with the signing certificate included, then go back into your control panel: https://manchesterunity.crowdstack.io/cp/sso-settings And click the link to Re-import SAML IdP Metadata XML .
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
Note: if you proceed, you will no longer be following .
