Another major feature we are adding soon is "reactions", to be included when we roll out Pips . Reactions are an expansion on the "likes" you are already familiar with, with a much broader palette that allows community members to quickly express their feelings about a particular post/reply/comment. Reactions will be expressed on a post like so: Click on a reaction that has already been expressed to add yourself to that reaction, or choose the plus icon to choose one of the other reactions.
Would it be possible for you to add a Popup Action in the Automation Rules? This could be handy in many situations: Acknowledging a posting milestone (a member's 100th post, his 500th post, etc.) These would be a good opportunity to build member pride and loyalty via a "Congratulations!" popup. Notices on New Content about threads being started in the correct sub-forum. The setup should allow for us to author different popups for different purposes.
Great stuff. One question: In the Activity Point formula, there's a reference to points earned for the author having a post on a support topic "marked as best answer." Can one enable this "best answer" feature in their own community forums? If so, how? I can't seem to locate this option on Hoop.la. Thanks.
Yeah but maybe I'm an anomaly. So, I have trading post type forums... having those auto lock after X period of time would be a great way to weed out stuff that's just not relevant anymore. Whereas the other forums, it's cool with me if people bring up old threads and ask questions on them as they are just for typical conversations. Additionally... just thought of this... is there a way to automatically filter out stuffed that's locked? Thanks! Hope you are well!
I'm delighted the auto-close feature has arrived as it's something that's been at the top of the wish list for some time. However, I think there's a problem. I enabled auto-close for posts with no activity after 30 days. what has happened is that it has closed every single topic in the forum. Unchecking the box has not re-opened them. So... I now have many hours of going through and opening up each thread manually. Not very happy about that. Is this a bug and is there a way of opening up the...
Hi Richard, Yep, that's a bug. It will be fixed tomorrow. In the meantime, you can reopen topics in bulk in the Manage Content section of your control panel. Use the "Open: Accept New Comments" option. Hope that helps! Brian
Under Manage Content -> Search Content, search for the topics you want to re-open. Select the topics (across all pages, if that's what you want), and then choose the "Open: Accept New Comments" option in the action dropdown at the bottom of the page.
Hi Richard, That bug should be fixed now, so you should be able to safely re-enable the auto-close feature again. Please let us know if you spot any other issues! Thanks, Brian
