    Any member can go to their profile and click "notifications." First they'll see the delivery mechanisms (email or on-site alert), and then they can click the tab for Primary Notifications to see all of the options for following content and activities on the site. They can just check (or uncheck) those boxes to control what they're following. Each member also can set their default following behavior...in their profile, under Personal Settings, there's a section for "Default Notification...

    Add me to the group trying to figure this out. What is different here for a user beyond what they have already had within the notifications area? And where do I find this in my Admin Control panel to set it up, if I want to use it?

    The biggest difference is portability. Since it's a widget, you can now put the personalized activity stream anywhere you want in the interface. Also, I think it appeals to people who are more used to the "feed" mentality, where you can see a page with "just your stuff" on it. You don't have to turn the personalized activity stream on or off, it should just be there if your users want to see it (if you are using the Activity Stream at all, which you turn on or off in the Structure area of...

    @Julie Usher , sorry for the delay, but the Personalized Activity Stream is available on your community now! The job actually finished over 24 hours ago, but there was a small issue completing the activation of the feature. We've now corrected that, so the full functionality of this release is available on your community now

    @Rich Melvin , can you be more specific about what you're missing from the Activity Stream? Is it just the old Activity tab on the member's profile? Is there something else? It's unclear to me what your primary complaint is, so I'm just trying to understand your perspective. I'll also mention that we're working on adding a Posts tab to the member profile this week, as I announced here . @Plance , you may be happy to hear about this, as well.

    I love how they use circles. It is a great way to organize your friends by their relationship. So many time with Facebook, you cannot specify how they are related to you. Hopefully we will see a bit more iphone application development in this realm. The app that Google has out now could use a bit more polishing. What do you guys think?

    I think there's still a place for a little bit of Stalin. Ok, maybe not in the arena of criticism, and some controversy is always going to happen. I've had to perform one execution as a moderator and I've never regretted the decision, though with different tools and more experience I might have been able to find a better way (though I still doubt it). Other than that, I guess I'm bits of all of these - if I had to pick one, I'm more of a border collie, but without the idea of the "correct"...

    Would love to see some new Hoop features or tweaks to existing ones that glean and highlight “recent replies and new topics being discussed” in an attractive way so as to support the important goal you have written about, Rosemary. The block extracts don’t cut it. The Activity Stream tries but it’s too real-time and not descriptive. You don’t have to look far for what an enticing conversation boosting feature might look like. See Facebook. I have several ideas when you’re ready to brainstorm.

    Hi Neil! The Content Stream content block brings in all new content (including topics, blog posts, clips, etc.). The general scope is just a feed of everything, without regard to the logged in user who's viewing it. The "personalized" scope will display a feed that's specific to the person viewing it (so it will show things you're following). Personalized version looks different to every person viewing it.     Thanks ROSEMARY! re: Noodling... yes! I have a volunteer who is going to "dig for hidden treasures" on our site to bring them to people's attention. Our site has a lot of good older content, and such things can easily get buried. What I WISH was that there was some way to "mark" certain posts and topics so that they would appear in a custom content stream to only displayed those marked items. Another way to "sort of" do this is to create a topic dedicated to displaying links to "highlights...
