One thing we discovered recently is that, for at least some Google Fonts, if you do not include the "bold" version of the font when you include it then items you make bold may not actually appear bold when using Chrome. Thus, we recommend that you include both the normal and bold versions of the Google Font, if you are adding a Google Font to your HEAD area. Here is an example: <link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto:400,700' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
How to add an image rotator to your home page banner. We will be using a package called Slick. Slick is fully compatible with Crowdstack, can be responsive, and has oodles of fun features, We will be doing a basic setup just to get it installed and working. First, download the files that you need. Go to the Slick website and click Get it now. Click download now and download the zip file to your desktop or downloads folder, whichever you usually use. Once it is downloaded, unzip the zip file.
Hey everyone- We've made a couple of changes to the way that our customer support system works. 1. All customer support tickets are now always private. That means that only the person that created the ticket and our support staff can see each ticket. This way, no one ever has to worry about private details about their sites being made visible to the world. 2. Because those customer support tickets are always private now, we disabled the "suggestions" option in the Customer Support area.
You're so right! I'm a recent convert to Evernote...perhaps that's what's finally allowed me to feel comfortable ditching the paper files. Thanks for stopping by!
I have three custom pages on my community: one for directions to our rehearsal/performance venues, one for our fundraising program, and one for contact information.
Getting your workspace in an acceptable manner really does affect your work. Have you checked out bringing in accessories like Wholesale Planters and lamps. This would really brighten up the place. What do you guys think?
I'm trying to set up a custom page, but for both Inherit or choosing a theme it is mandatory to input custom HTML. I don't have custom HTML as I want it to use the current theme's. What is the solution for this?
Hi Pearl, The custom HTML field is where you put the contents of your custom page. This field is required, as there's no point to having a custom page without any content on it You don't need to worry about putting any custom CSS or theme settings in that box. Does that help? Brian
Hi @Pretty Thunder ! Since this article was posted, (a couple of years ago), we have added the ability to include widgets on a custom page, so that might help you get part way there. If you'd like us to create the custom page for you, you could consider buying an hour of professional services time ($200). To take care of that (or ask more specific questions), just post a fresh support topic and we'll get you taken care of!
This has been extremely helpful for me! Thank you both (Jane and Rosemary)! It is always so empowering to see what other people are doing to build community, and how they are connecting online and offline relationships and projects to make the world we live in better. I'm struggling to make the conversion from Facebook to our new (3 months) Hoop.la site (LakelandConnection.com) but this has reminded me to be patient. I look forward to more case studies like this!
I'm so glad to hear that Chrissanne! I also learn something new every time I look at one of our customer communities. Jane's a great role model in more ways than one. Maybe we can do a Lakeland profile next
Are you looking to run your own ad offerings, or insert programmatic ads like Google AdSense in the community? Off the top of my head, I'd think @Yasmin might have some insights on how ads can work within Crowdstack.
Plance has hit the nail on the head, when he says, "...Now...valuable Topic threads are buried amongst perhaps thousands of Topic Replies...This degradation of categorization is a profound disservice to the functionality and lifeblood of our forum..." This is exactly the problem. What you've done here is the equivalent of having a nicely organized filing system and taking all the files and dumping them into a single file folder. I'm sure you don't have your in-house computers set up that...
I cannot get this to work!! So frustrating!! Please help! I have created a clone of a standard theme (to pick from) and added the code to the head css section and it's still not centered. HELP! Thank you!
Hello, I still cannot get this to work! This is what I'm posting into the " Custom Code For HEAD Section": div#horizontalNavMenuSecondaryWrapper { width:100%; } #menuWhitespaceTd .horizontalMenuWhitespace { display:none; } table.horizontalMenu { margin:auto; width:300px; } This code shows up ABOVE my forum banner, on all pages. Am I missing something??? Thank you in advance for all help!
Hi jpmfan, The "Custom Code For HEAD Section" requires HTML, but what you've pasted there is CSS. You should put that into the Custom CSS section in your theme instead (just beneath where you've got it right now). Hope that helps! Brian
Thank you for the pub! Much appreciated. I would like to mention Dennis Dautel, who had his team produce our flash banners and logo. Thanks again Rosemary

The world, and especially NYC is a better place for Chi Chi Valenti and Johnny Dynell inhabiting in it. Ms. Valenti's depth of writing/poetry talent, and ability to create and lead whole movements (and circus leadership!) is awe inspiring. She is the real thing..
