Reference: Sounds like a great system for o/c overachievers who have no other lives. Not at ALL true, donnarae! Ever since I've started working at Social Strata (10 years in May), I've heard about the necessary balance of life and work, and I've been encouraged to live outside of work. All of us have lives, some of us have small children and some have important parts to play in others' lives. There are no overachievers with no other lives here! This CAN work. In ANY company. The key is...

Blimey I'd best go and sign up with Twitter etc. I am sooo bad at this social media malarky! I do have a FB account ... but I only have three friends!! Not because no one likes me, but because I only set it up to keep up with two friends who live abroad (the other one lives round the corner). I reject all the friend requests that I receive

Reference: I'm pretty sure we've got a lot of them sitting around the office. Yes, indeedy. I'm still wearing my tattoo today. And that brain makes a GREAT cat toy!

The brain is great for impromptu office dodgeball, as well. Or so I have heard. The Infopop swag will always be the best. Lightbulb for life.

I think you guys come up with wonderful ideas...our grandchildren learned how to kazoo with your groupee kazoos, and we still have them! And remember the video of the Bevis family Christmas kazoo carol...oh my... I'll try to link to it (it is in the Kazoo link from my page) http://www.hoo.do/fileS...5730654972943902.jpg But...I'm wondering how could I get one of those brains, they look like great stress relievers.

While they don't have your logo, my company hands out those brains occasionally during staff trainings. I have a lapel pin in the form of an IUD - yep, the birth control device. That's probably my weirdest swag yet.

Steven, the lightbulb will always hold a soft spot in my heart too SuBe, I remember the Christmas kazooing! That was so fun to see. Maybe we need a sequel this year... LOM I think your weird swag wins the prize! That's crazy. The real question is...do you ever wear it?

Thanks for the kazoo shout-out! I'm happy to hear you still have a few of those floating around the office!

I completely agree with the post. Creating the community online is merely a way to HOST people in coming together. It allows connection,(eventually mine will also have chat as most of my members are either deaf or interpreters) People long for connection and having an online community that facilitates a place to meet gives deaf people a sense of belonging that at times they do not have if they live alone or have very little connection with people who are able to communicate with them. Thank...

I cannot imagine having the job of coming up with these swags. Some of the ones I've seen posted here are cool. There was a group of movers that had a ball similar to the one posted on here. Maybe they were trying to say "it's a ball for us to move all your stuff!"

This has been extremely helpful for me! Thank you both (Jane and Rosemary)! It is always so empowering to see what other people are doing to build community, and how they are connecting online and offline relationships and projects to make the world we live in better. I'm struggling to make the conversion from Facebook to our new (3 months) Hoop.la site (LakelandConnection.com) but this has reminded me to be patient. I look forward to more case studies like this!

Lovely post! We've been using our Crowdstack platform to simultaneously live stream Facebook Live and Zoom Webinar events directly into the platform using the embed code. It's quite effective and another place for them to catch the livestream!

Hi, DBenoit. Thanks for giving us some more information about you and your goals in your profile . From your profile What's your community's big goal? The goal of this community is to foster the exchange of experiences, issues, information, and inspiration toward overcoming personal health challenges in the hunting and fishing communities. Have you found any places (physical or virtual) where like-minded people congregate? I'm picking up on Rosemary's thoughts about brick and mortar...

@Brian Lenz , I, and our forum, will be happy if the new Posts tab will be as functional and we can copy/paste it into future posts as live links to members' valued content as we could before. Thank you for your response!

@Rich Melvin While I appreciate your appreciation, Rich, my reading of various posts from Julie, Plance, and you at OGR suggest that y'all are using the A.S. differently than we do (used to). Seems like you folks want some of the A.S.' functionality on User Profile Pages, whereas we liked it as a look-see widget on our homepage and embedded on a custom page. My eulogy doesn't mention your User Profile functions. That said, yes, I would love to see the "activity" publicly visible...

Hi, Rosemary. Thanks for opening this discussion space. Would you consider adding some public fields to the member profiles here? Some fields I'd like to see: Link to your community http://bosepro.community Date founded: September 2003 Your role in the community: Musician and Community Manager When you get involved in your current role in your community: June 2004 Community Mission Statement: The Bose Portable PA Community is the place for performers to share experiences and talk about how...

First, let's start with the irony - I just used my Facebook account to post this comment. Its true, FB can and does suck in a lot of ways. It also creates an opportunity for a lot of fake and meaningless interaction. However, it does serve at least one purpose for me in that it does allow me to keep 'light' contact with a lot of people who don't live in my area. Friends from my hometown and friends who have moved. It allows me to keep a sort of dialog open that allows us to easily pickup...

Hi Lynda- Your site will be set up on our upgrade/beta server around the end of August, assuming current projections hold up. While on that server, you will be able to create new theme(s) and change other settings so you can see what your site looks like on the new codebase. Then, once that "upgrade/beta" period ends, we will start the process of upgrading all live sites to the new codebase (and we will bring over all new themes/settings you set on that beta/upgrade server over automatically...

Crowdstack doesn't have a concept of 'friends.' Instead, you can follow/get notifications when a specific person posts content. There's no mutual relationship. I'm not sure what that comment was referring to. The reason our private messaging works the way it does is that it isn't really a chat, it's a thread, which means the content is persistent forever (until it's deleted). Every participant can see the history of the entire conversation. If you could add people to the conversation down...
