One of the new features is support for Font Awesome font icons. The advantage of using font icons is that they can scale to different sizes without distorting whereas using images can't scale without distorting or adding blurriness. New to the applilcation are text-based member badges instead of image-based badges. If you want to add some extra flair to your premium member badge, you can inject a Font Awesome font icon with some simple custom CSS. First, you must select which font icon you...
Thanks for being part of OUR community Please come back and let me know how things work out as you try out different ideas, or if you come up with some new ones of your own!
Will do! I've basically been encouraging everyone I know interested in my site concept to share it like crazy. Having the support of friends / family with thriving online social networks helps a ton. And I realized that I should sign up for a FB page so I could entice regular FB users BACK to my site by posting news and blog post links there. Learning a lot and loving what you guys are doing! Where are you located? A couple people have asked and I can't figure it out. Morgan
Yes, you should definitely leverage your FB presence. That will help you too. The bulk of our staff are in Seattle, WA, but a couple of us are in Charleston, SC. We're in the process of opening a second office here. It's definitely helping us to have folks in two time zones!
Hi Brisotti, The code should go into your Display Settings control panel in the Custom CSS box. You need to make sure you use the permission circle's group ID instead of "premium" if it's not a premium permission group. For your Patrocinador circle, that numeric ID is 350043526109298115, which you can see in the URL when editing the permission circle's details. I changed your selector to .h-member-badge-350043526109298115, which fixed the problem (you also had replaced the 'h' with "webkits"...
Hi Brisotti, For that specific badge, the selector is .h-member-badge-350043526109298115 so the font can be controlled with something like this: .h-member-badge-350043526109298115 { font-size: 0.8rem; } Note that we don't generally offer free assistance with Custom CSS. Custom CSS assistance falls under our Advanced Support, which is $150/hour. I've made an exception here to get you going in the right direction. If you need further assistance, please open a new support topic. Regards, Brian
Hi Rich, You'll need to use the specific permission circle's numeric ID in the selector, as I mentioned above to Brisotti. You can grab that ID from the URL and then use a CSS selector like .h-member-badge-XXX:before (where XXX is the numeric ID) instead of .h-member-badge-premium:before . Hope that helps! Brian
Nice idea. Is there a way to upload multiple badges to this same field? I have a situation where people can accumulate more than one honor and it would be nice to be able to accommodate at least 3 badges here.
Hi Julie! You could do that a couple of ways: first, you could just create three fields; second, you could collage the three images and upload them into the field as one image.
Right, the collaging takes a lot more time though because people can have different combinations of badges. Wanted them all in one field, as the one field already takes up a ton of space in the member profile. Hope you will consider a gallery-style photo upload option here.
That is a cool idea, Julie, I'll make sure it goes into the "for consideration" hopper. We already do that with Database fields, so there's a precedent.
@Valerie Krist if you want to add a large graphic like I showed above, yes it is still the best way. However, lots of people use small icons, inline with the member title, as a type of "badge." Here's an article that explains how to add a custom icon to member titles .
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
Note: if you proceed, you will no longer be following .
