Is there any way to find out how many of our members have suspended all notifications from our site (i.e. how many are no longer active members)? Thanks! Emma

Hi, Does Hoop.la comply (or help us to comply) with The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)? http://ec.europa.eu/justice/data-protection/reform/index_en.htm I've heard that there may be similar regulations in other regions of the world coming soon. Do you have plans for compliance in other regions? Thanks, ST

Good morning, I have a few member-information related questions. 1) I know I can see the date/time member's most recent login, but is there a way to see a more detailed history of their login activity over time? For instance, it would be useful to us to identify those who have logged in only a few times over a span of time, as opposed to what I do now, which is look for people whose last login was >X time ago. FYI - we currently disable the member points function. If the solution to this...

I believe Barry, Jonmark, Brian, Jeff, and Don were the primary crimpers. It truly did not look like fun. (But I think that phase is done now )

The confusion surrounding social marketing is palpable. Whenever I speak with folks they believe it's only about posting to Facebook and Twitter. No one really knows how to engage customers. Now that I am blogging and writing social media posts for clients, it's a longer haul to earn traction. People and companies are so behind and had they engaged 3 years ago when everyone was excited to like, share, follow it would be easier today.

LinkedIn share button is coming...meanwhile, you can copy paste the URL into the LinkedIn post box and it should work fine (should you be so inclined). And I totally agree that confusion is rampant right now. Seeing the data from this study really gives perspective on how many folks are still figuring it out as they go.

Hi ST! Funny you should ask...I was thinking of doing a blog post about that soon. We're aware of the upcoming EU GDPR deadline next year, and taking steps to make sure we can offer GDPR compliance. If there are other international privacy rules that shake out of those discussions, we'll keep tabs on those as well. We definitely have a good percentage of customers with non-US based community members!

We're treating this much like COPPA in the past, we're going to provide tools that you will need in order to comply with GDPR as we've interpreted it (you'll of course want to get your own legal opinion for your own use case). And we're trying to have our solution in place prior to the May deadline. The first step was our recent release which allowed members to delete themselves. A lot of nuance is required because the guidelines don't provide a ton of specifics about social content and how...

I meant to include this link, which has some good simple explanations of the rule: https://ec.europa.eu/commissio...-protection-rules_en . My epic blog post about this should be ready within the next week or so.

It appears that the link goes to a page which no longer exists. I think that the replacement page is: https://ec.europa.eu/commissio...-protection-rules_en

Hi Lori! Clarification – I see that our members do have points, but they can’t see them (right?) so I could use that, I think. Sorry! Mary

Don't be sorry! I grabbed this because I wanted it...but I have to go out for bit. Hang tight, and I'll get you some answers when I get back!

Hi, again, Mary! 1. There isn't a way to run a report that shows how often a member is logging in. As you suggested, points is the way to go, and you're right: your members cannot see their points, but you can. 2. There isn't a way for you to see your member's notifications (or edit them) at this time, but we've got something in the system for that--I just don't know when we'll see it. As always it might be available as a Feature Expedite, so let me know if you want me to get you a quote for...

Thanks, Lori! Thanks for the info – I will mull these over and let you know if I have follow-up questions or want a quote for anything. I have been using the member search today to send reminders to certain groups of people, and hit upon a suggestion: it would be great to be able to search not just by points, but also by rank… So for example we could reward the most active members, and reach out to the least active, without having to search for specific point ranges. Hi, Mary! I've got an idea of how you can make the rank thing for you. If you enable Community Rank, and then hide it, only YOU will be able to see the rank. Then, you can set up a widget for yourself and keep it on an admin-only page, and you can see the highest-ranked members anytime you want! If that sounds like a good idea to you, I'll walk you through the steps to accomplish that. Lori

Hi, Mary: OK, here's how I'd do it: 1. First let's put in the CSS to hide the community rank: On the Display Settings page in your CP, go to the Custom CSS field, and insert this code: Don't forget to update that page when you're done! 2. Now let's enable Community Ranks: you'll do this in your Member Settings, down under Miscellaneous Settings. Just check the box to enable it, and then scroll down and update the page. 3. Next, we'll create your widget: In the CP, go to Manage Widgets, and...

Hi Emma, the easiest way to surface that list of members is to go to your Manage Members area, and filter by "last visit" date. Choose a date possibly a few months ago, and you'll see who hasn't visited the site recently. Once you have the filtered list, you can send out a communication using the "notify members" in the dropdown to say "hey, we miss you!" You can also set up an automatic recipe to do this periodically...Just go to recipes, and choose " Contact Members Who Have Been Inactive...

Hi ST, we haven't shared our blog post about that yet because our approach is still subject to change (as the EU's interpretation of the rules is also subject to change). As soon as we have something firm, we'll go live.
