Is it possible to add a disclaimer to our calendar? For example: Disclaimer : Events are published for information purposes only. EENet does not recommend or endorse posted events and does not accept responsibility for content posted on external sites linked from the calendar.

Is there any way to add repeating events to the calendar? I've got lots of them and it is a real problem to have to enter them one by one for each month.

Hi, I've a question - An event which is published with future date time and after few days. It has been decided to cancel the event. In such case, I am forced to delete the event instead marking it cancelled. Here, I will lose the audit trail/traces about the cancelled event. Please do suggest if there are any solution or workaround. Regards, Rajesh

Hi, In EVE I could get a report of recent events and see things like who has released posts from moderation. How do I do that in Hoop.la? ST

Hello! Quick question...is there a way to check the peak number of members who attended a chat event after the chat event has closed? We like to know stats like that and sometimes we forget to check the roster throughout the chat event. Thanks! Alesa

I think it would be cool to be able to RSVP to chat events like you can for other calendar events in Hoop.la.  I'm posting this here as a suggestion to see if anyone else is interested in the same thing.

The 'add this event to my calendar' function doesn't seem to work. Please advise.  Thanks! Emma

Hi there, We seem to be having an issue with adding events to calendars (at least in Outlook). Several members of our site have notified me that when they go to the following event (http://www.eenetconnect.ca/event/webinar-building-community-capacity-for-a-family-based-youth-resiliency-program) and click 'Add event to your calendar,' the time of the event in their calendars is incorrect (i.e. their calendars say the event goes from 11 to 12:30, instead of 10 to 11:30). I'm not sure if this...

Hello, We've noticed recently that the Hoop.la chat events are not always automatically refreshing the pending queue on Mozilla Firefox and sometimes the Approve button or Delete button won't work until we manually refresh the page. This is a minor issue, but it causes annoyance as some messages don't appear in the chat queue until we remember to refresh the page and that causes delayed responses. This also sometimes occurs in Google Chrome, but not frequently enough to concern us. Is this...

It would be great for administrators/specific circles to be able to create recurring calendar events, either by setting an event to recur on a set schedule (e.g., the 1st of every month, or every other Friday, etc.) or by being able to select and duplicate an event. Either way, the ability to keep the tags as well would be very helpful. Thanks!

Hi Robin, Hoop.la's calendar does not currently support recurring events. I'll change this topic into a Suggestion so that others can vote on the idea. Thanks, Brian

Thanks for the suggestion Brian. I tried this by saving a couple of days of my Outlook calendar as an iCal (actually the only option was .ics so hopefully that's the same thing) but when I imported the file I just got a bunch of events titled "Busy" with no other details. I'm adding a screen shot so you can see. Do you know what has gone wrong here?
  • Support Ticket Reply
Hi tj27, You should check the ics file that you exported. I suspect that you may have only exported a "free/busy" calendar which will only show the events as "busy" without revealing the actual event title of the underlying event. Hoop.la will import whatever the event title is specified in the ics file. You can try inspecting the ics file in a text editor (such a Notepad on windows) to see if the titles of the events are included there. Hope that helps! Brian

Brian, you have hit the nail on the head! All of those events contain the text "Busy" in a few places (e.g. "SUMMARY;LANGUAGE=en-au:Busy"). So the next thing I will need to work out is how to get Outlook to save the events with their actual title/subject. If I work that out I'll post an update here.

Exporting and importing ics files simply isn't going to work in a shared environment where there are multiple operating system and all levels of knowledge on the part of the users. So far I've found web based calendars to be the weak point in many systems. Unfortunate.

Hi there, I've been asked by a few of our community members if it would be possible to change the form in which people post info about events on our site, so that the person posting is obligated to indicate whether the event is online or in-person (and, if in-person, which city/county the event is in). Is this possible? Thanks! Emma

Hi there, Is it possible to change the default notification setting for calendar events? Right now every new calendar event is sent out to our members via email (unless they've turned their event notifications off). Since lately there have been many posts per day, I'm wondering if it's possible to instead do something like send one weekly email with all new posted events... Thanks, Emma

Hi, Emma: Can you tell us more about the issue? What happens when you try? Which calendar type are you trying to add (Google, iCal, Outlook or Yahoo)? The more detail you can provide, the better!

Hi Lori, It actually doesn't seem to be a problem with all events, but in events in our group calendars (e.g. http://www.eenetconnect.ca/g/k...-facilitated-by-mhcc ) the iCal and Outlook functions don't seem to work. The date and time don't seem to be showing up in the event description either. Perhaps this is the problem?

Hi, Emma: I see what you mean. We'll investigate, and I'll get back to you. Thanks for the report! Lori

Hi, Emma: Just wanted to report that this is definitely a bug. We'll get that fixed, and we'll report back. Thanks!

Just an update that the date and time don't seem to be showing up in any of the event descriptions on our site. The time and date do appear on the calendar/list of upcoming events, but if someone is accessing an event just via URL they can't see when the event is being held.
  • Support Ticket Reply
Hi Emma, You'll be happy to know that we've fixed both of the bugs you reported here! You should now properly see the event's date/time on the event details page, and you also should be able to add group events to iCal and Google now. Thanks again for the reports! Brian

Hello Emma, There is currently no description available for the calendar module, and no simple way to accomplish what you described. The only option I can think of would be to inject a description using DHTML. I will turn this into a suggestion, would you like me to make this public as well? Cheers, Jonmark

Thanks, Jonmark. Feel free to make this public. Emma

As a short term solution, you could potentially put that wording in a custom widget that shows up on the Calendar page...just an idea.

Lovely post! We've been using our Crowdstack platform to simultaneously live stream Facebook Live and Zoom Webinar events directly into the platform using the embed code. It's quite effective and another place for them to catch the livestream!

I could see that, especially since we automatically add chat events to the site calendar. (If you added the chat event to your site calendar separately you you could get the RSVPS, it would show up twice in the calendar, which is obviously not ideal.)

Hi, Emma: A weekly digest of calendar items is not an option at this time. I like the idea, though: want me to turn this into a suggestion? Lori

Hi, Alesa: Leaving the page open all day could cause issues, yes. If reloading the page fixes it, that's the best thing to do for now. We've created an internal ticket to look at ways to improve the experience, but that will likely be a longer-term project. Do you know how to expand the Firefox error for more detail? I think you click on the message, or to the left or right of it. We'd be interested in seeing that detail. Thanks! Lori

Hi, Lori: After the community update yesterday, Firefox suddenly started working and refreshing automatically again. I don't know what happened, but it's working again for now so we'll just keep an eye on it. Thanks for creating an internal ticket for improving the experience. Have a great weekend! Alesa

Hi, Alesa: I wasn't able to recreate the issue you're having, nor have we had any other similar reports. We haven't made any changes to Chat recently, so it's unlikely that it's a newly-introduced bug of some kind. Clearing the cache won't hurt anything, but it would be a surprise if it it fixes anything. How many people are experiencing this issue? Is it just Moderators viewing the queue, or are any regular users reporting any issues with connectivity? How many different browsers/computers...

Hi, Lori, Thanks for your response and for looking into this. Currently, it's just moderators experiencing the issue and we're using PCs. There are about 6 of us moderating the chat. The issue seems to be more prevalent in Firefox than Chrome. I've included an attachment showing the developer tools for one of our Firefox users. Is that what you were looking for? Chrome is what I use and I notice that the chat's responsiveness slows as the day goes on to where it sometimes becomes...

This would be super! The featured speaker for our upcoming chat event is really curious how many people will be taking part in the event. Since this is our first one, I have no idea what to tell her
  • Support Ticket Reply
Hi Serena- One way to handle this now would be to create a calendar event for the chat event, since calendar events already support RSVPs. Then, just include a link to the chat event in your calendar event description.
