We talk a lot of theory and philosophy when it comes to running a community, so I thought it would be good to take a step back and do a basic daily checkup. Here are five simple tasks you can do daily to keep your online community humming. I'd assume that on a weekly or monthly basis you do more "big picture" planning and maintenance.

So here's the lather, rinse, repeat of online community:

Check for new members to welcome &/or approve new members
Comment in new topics, where appropriate
Check moderation queue/reported topics & take action right away
Start a topic if members aren't buzzing today
Respond to admin emails or private messages
