As we already announced, we are in the process of establishing a new beachhead (literally) in Charleston, SC. It's very important that we stay tightly connected during this transition, and it's led to some creative solutions. You also might start noticing that support inquiries get answered earlier in the day for you East Coasters!
Here are some of the ways we're staying in close contact during the transition phase:
- We share ideas and discussions via our company intranet, powered by Hoop.la of course!
- We use shared DropBox accounts and Google for Docs and calendar - being extra vigilant about putting items on the calendar
- We are logging in to our corporate help/support desk, powered by QuestionShark
- We've discovered Kik, a free app that allows you to text without incurring texting charges (it works on Android and iPhone)
- We hold meetings with a video setup through iChat (see the Big Brother-esque pic below)
- I even discovered that I can still participate in my favorite Twitter chats using Tweetchat on iPhone Safari browser (it's tricky, but can be done)
- It also bears mentioning that Ted is doing a lot of flying back and forth during the transition.
