This is an issue that has happened before. A completed blog in the queue to be published later disappears from view, and we have no way of knowing if its just there but invisible or if something has happened to it. I think you'll see I've raised this before.

Right now, Murals of LaCombe, Alberta is missing from our DrFumblefinger queue; both he and I saw it there last night, scheduled for 21 February.

so: A) Where is it? and B) Why does this happen and C) How do we avoid it?

Thanks!

Nope, sorry…you’re missing the point.

DrFumblefinger and I have access to both his queue and mine, and I can confirm that when he could not see it in his queue, I could not see it in his queue. Nothing to do with my queue or with approval

Later it reappeared, as did the other one we mentioned some time back. There is a problem somewhere at your end that can make queued posts disappear and re-appear (unless you’re manually re-appearing them after we notify you.

Among the problems with that situation is that a) we don’t know for sure it will re-appear and second, in some cases we have to add last-minute notes, such as who solved a puzzle, and if the post isn’t available for editing it when we’re available to edit…., well…

Thanks!

Hi, Paul:

I'm assuming that, when you say that both you and DrFumblefinger have access to each other's queue, you mean that you are logging in as each other to view those queues? To my knowledge, there is no other way for anyone to see another's draft or future publication post.

We think what may be happening is that DrFumblefinger is sometimes going into a future publication post, then saving it as a draft, which would move it from the Future Publications to the Drafts Queue. I could see that it would be easy to do--both options appear at the bottom of the post page. Do you think that might be a possibility?

I can assure you that we are not manually making things re-appear on our end when you notify us.

The next time this happens to you, please let us know, and we'll try to track it down for you.
