Hi,

Is there a way to find out how many members are following a discussion?
Can we find out who they are?

We are trying to assess the impact and reach of a discussion, and we'd like to understand things like

  • The number of distinct participants
  • The number of posts from each participant
  • The number of page views by members (assuming they have signed in)

Thanks!

Hi ST-

For forum topics, we currently count page views per topic (and that can be displayed on the topic page).  There is also a  "Topic Data CSV" file that can be downloaded per topic by admin. That is a list of each post, with data on each person that posted (and therefore number of participants on the topic).

Does that help... or are you looking for something else?

I looked under Advanced Reporting and did not find "Topic Data CSV".  Where should I look?

Right now there's no way to track how many people are following a discussion (although that's a good suggestion).

To get the topic csv, go to the topic in question, and click "Manage Topic," then you'll see "download topic data" in the dropdown. That will give you a list of members participating in the discussion, the contents of the conversation, and dates/timestamps, etc. in a spreadsheet format.

Question In Progress

Hi, Rosemary.

That's a big help. I was looking in the wrong place for the reporting.

Now I can see things like 6% of the participants contributed 90% of the posts.

Thanks!
