Change of "Clips" to "Resources" 13 replies

All of my site startup posts, Terms of Use and other such "intro" posts for the site refer to "Clips" and how to post to the "Clips" section, so I can't underscore more heavily how much make-work this change made for me (SO MANY POSTS TO COMB THROUGH AND CHANGE) while adding no apparent value . . . ☹️

The change has alsoemessed up my main nav line  to the point that I can't manage my own account. Because "Resources" is longer than "Clips", the nav line now laps to a second line on every size screen view from smallest to largest, so I can't even access my profile/account to view notifications or to see if I have any.  Note how my profile button is obscured by secondary navigation in every view. THIS name change MUST CHANGE BACK ON MY SITE. Ugh.

Not to mention - I already had a main navigation item called "Resources" which truly is resources. I don't want to now have to rename that section and every mention of it on my site . . .

Hi @Julie Usher,

You can easily change the wording back from Resources to Clips if you want. In your control panel, go to Settings > Wording and then edit the primary wording set. Search for "Resource" and update the wording as you choose.

Screen shot showing two "Resources" now on my main nav line. I really don't have the time to restructure and rename another entire section of my site because of your unannounced name change - there are major ripple effects throughout the site. I am on vacation besides. So frustrating and wasteful of time . . .

Not happy - I'm on vacation and this made more work than really was needed.

Yes, I need direct links/navigation instructions for changing back text in the following areas. I changed the main nav line (I think), but I don't know where or how to change the text in these three areas . . .I can't do a global replacement of "resources" because I already had a separate "resources" tab . . . I will spend too much time (ALL WHILE ON VACATION) trying to find the place to change these things and so need help stat.

1) In posting area/behind post button (need to change topics to forums; resources to clips):

Okay, still don't know how to change "Topic" in this area to "Forum Topic". If I search all occurrences of "topic", too much comes up and I have no way of identifying which one controls this one area. Need more help . . .

You'll have to find the wording that says just "Topic" and change that occurrence.

But won't that change every occurrence of "topic" on the site??? I just want to change it in that one area.

Also, did the changes I just made to "Resources" and "resource" get applied throughout the site, i.e., also in blog post and custom page text, or just to navigation areas on the site??

Yes, whatever wording changes you making in the Wording control panel are universal, so anywhere that "topic" or "resource" is used on its own will be changed to whatever you changed it to.

The wording control panel only affects the stock text provided by Crowdstack. It will not affect the content of posts or custom pages on your site.
