Thanks for this. I am trying to incorporate this into my community. I find I am missing a lot of the content that my members are adding. I have all of my email notifications on and I follow a large number of my members, yet I don't see when they comment or post until I happen upon it in my other engagement. Is there a way to make this easier? And, what do you recommend as a way to aggregate the content being added for the purpose of sending a weekly update/email "Weekly Roundup" kind of message?

Hi @neil ! That just means that when Hoop.la generates automated extracts of posts (e.g. for showing recent replies in the topic list), Hoop.la will now strip out any quoted text (i.e. text in a blockquote ). This will give more focus to the actual post/reply/comment that was made.

Hi, I'm especially excited about the photo change. Thanks! I did, though, have two questions about the personalized activity stream. I had an activity stream on my home page (Member Milestones and More!), but I don't see a way to personalize it (see screen shot below). Why not? And, two, I don't understand this comment, "In addition, there is a new Personal Activity Stream page available whenever the Activity Stream is enabled for your site." (1) How do you enable the Activity Stream (I...

I notice my off the cuff comment got a quote in the Seattle PI. I like the reply- "3 day work weeks? Why would it matter so long as they accomplish the goals their boss set for them. Why would it matter if they did it in 5 days vice 3? So they work quicker, and so long as their superiors are satisfied with the quality then seems to me they earned that 3day work week." A good response and in some ways a workable one. However every business needs staff available at all times so there would...

Reading further down I came across the comment "I think this is a pretty slick media marketing ploy to get the company name out there. Who heard of "Social Strata" before this article???" I had heard of them and I'm in England mate..

Most people in the United States have not heard of most privately-owned small-businesses in the United States. Within the market, people know of Social Strata (or at least of Groupee and Infopop), but in general, average Americans do not. So that comment is rather weak. I've been watching the coverage from afar and while its fun to see my friends getting some attention, I haven't seen anyone that has covered the story really get it. It's really about saying "As long as your responsibilities...

Right @Aliza Rosen the ability to comment on blogs is enabled/disabled per blog post right now. However, a workaround would be to use CSS to suppress the comment box, etc. on blogs. If you need help with that, just let me know!

First, let's start with the irony - I just used my Facebook account to post this comment. Its true, FB can and does suck in a lot of ways. It also creates an opportunity for a lot of fake and meaningless interaction. However, it does serve at least one purpose for me in that it does allow me to keep 'light' contact with a lot of people who don't live in my area. Friends from my hometown and friends who have moved. It allows me to keep a sort of dialog open that allows us to easily pickup...

LOL, but breakfast is usually something "instant." It makes everything so much more fun when we get to know our customers and they become friends. Makes me want to get up at 6am When are you coming back to visit us in the States again? I use my email inbox as a "to do" list. First run through and delete all of the spam (even with filtering, there's a lot). Then respond to the quick items, then go top to bottom for the longer responses. Then read the blogs, deleting the ones I don't need to...

Hi Lhisa, Hoop.la doesn't do any checks based on IP address that would prevent you from sending a dialog to another user. Users can choose to prevent others from sending them dialogs, however (assuming you are talking about dialogs). Thus, the new feature that allows you to register users through the control panel should behave the same way. The only difference is that you will not be logged in as the new user (as you would have previously). Without knowing exactly what error you're getting,...

Hi Ricks- We already supported liking content in general.. this release simply adds support for liking comments and replies. Thus, you can now like the primary content itself, as well as any comment/reply. To like "the initial post", click on the like option in the right column near the top of the content page.

Agree with Paul's comment below - a more modular approach to rolling out this feature would be preferred. I don't want to alter my home page, but might want to use this feature in the Clips or other areas (depending on how it looks and works, and how long it takes me to reformat it to fit the branding of my site).

I'm not ready to test it right now (it's coming at the busiest time of the year . . .), so it sounds like I shouldn't set up a support topic just yet. And I'm not able to monitor this site in the next few weeks to know when you release it. I think it would make more sense for you to open up a thread on the topic for everyone once you've released the feature - and just ask people to comment there if/when they want to test it. Thanks!

Ok, interesting idea....I've got a couple of possible solutions. 1. Create a "Best of" forum (and don't allow regular members to post or comment in it). Move your "best" topics to that forum. Create a Content Block for that forum and put it on the home page. 2. Create a Custom HTML content block (one time) that contains 3-5 bullet point links and nicely formatted text paragraph (or sentence). On a weekly, monthly, or other basis, just replace the links and paragraphs with the new topics you...

Crowdstack doesn't have a concept of 'friends.' Instead, you can follow/get notifications when a specific person posts content. There's no mutual relationship. I'm not sure what that comment was referring to. The reason our private messaging works the way it does is that it isn't really a chat, it's a thread, which means the content is persistent forever (until it's deleted). Every participant can see the history of the entire conversation. If you could add people to the conversation down...
