    💯👍
Plance has hit the nail on the head, when he says, "...Now...valuable Topic threads are buried amongst perhaps thousands of Topic Replies...This degradation of categorization is a profound disservice to the functionality and lifeblood of our forum..." This is exactly the problem. What you've done here is the equivalent of having a nicely organized filing system and taking all the files and dumping them into a single file folder. I'm sure you don't have your in-house computers set up that...

@Brian Lenz , I, and our forum, will be happy if the new Posts tab will be as functional and we can copy/paste it into future posts as live links to members' valued content as we could before. Thank you for your response!

Always like to see custom CSS tips, Ted We use all caps for our Category labels in a unique way which your cds would override. See below. While we're on the subject of the Breadcrumb nav bar...notice how the forum topic repeats itself ? Seems redundant. Perhaps tweaking your css to adjust background color of just the Breadcrumb trail to differentiate from the topic title. Or adding some space. Also, would prefer an arrow rather than slash. Slash is old school. Lessons and Resources Directory...

See the thing at the top of this page that says: HOME SERVICES BLOG SURVEYS etc. That is the top navigation menu. Breadcrumbs only appear on certain pages and only when necessary, for instance when on a page that is levels down from the home page for that "module" (like on a forum topic page).
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Margarita, yes they were released, and you can see the new "surveys" tab on your site, in the navigation bar. Any old "polls" have been turned into "surveys" and they can be found under that tab now.

We have a support forum for our users. Unfortunately, some of the very people who need support seem to resist posting, or are confused by important things like remembering to "follow" their topic to get notification of responses. We also use graphic how-to's -knowing many don't read carefully. Our #1 support request is to "unsubscribe" or cancel memberships. We really wish Hoopla would allow users to unsubscribe/cancel themselves. Automation of that process would be more support-friendly.

Any update on getting a preview feature for posting topics/replies?
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Augie- We will let you know via the existing support ticket for that request when "post preview" is implemented: https://hey.crowdstack.com/s...ewing-before-posting Thanks!

Nice changes! One question: If you don't have groups or portfolios enabled, and added the Community Logo, is it possible to go back to using no logo at all (like on this site)?
  • Blog Post Comment
Slaz- Yes, definitely. The logo is only required currently if you have groups or portfolios enabled.

Ah, sorry for being a bit vague, but I meant that I already fiddled with the feature and added a test logo. Is it possible to remove the set logo and go back to using no logo at all? I can find an edit button next to the set logo, but that doesn't seem to allow removal of the logo.

Hi Slaz- Sounds like just something we need to fix. We probably just need to add a delete option for that scenario. These sorts of things are really better suited for our support site, but I will go ahead and add that to our to-do list so we can fix it.
  • Blog Post Comment
Ah, sorry for bringing it up here. Thanks for adding it to the list though!

Hi Slaz, We just deployed the fix so that you can remove the community logo now. Thanks again for bringing it to our attention! Brian

Thank you Brian! And not related to this release yet still important: Merry christmas to you and your colleagues!

Sounds good! Yet I hope this 'phasing stage' allows us to make and test a new theme prior to the permanent rollout. Otherwise visitors might feel like they're visiting a different site instead of an updated version of the site they know. That's how important themes are. In my eyes, themes are a site's soul in an otherwise faceless body of information. Maybe make a 'test site' of some sort when the final product is ready? This would allow preparation of a fresh theme without your main site...

Hi Slaz- Yes, indeed. The whole point of the staging area will be to allow you to create/test themes and custom CSS on the responsive platform prior to actually moving your site onto it.

Great news Ted, I look forward to seeing how you handle things so I can gather more ideas to use in my own updates Question, in the last few days I updated to windows 10. Have you encountered any issues going with existing RD coding? Or is Windows 10 behaving.. lol

Hi JC- No, we have not seen any issue with Windows 10 so far, though of course there is still much more testing to do. I don't really expect many issues though. The new Edge browser is still the biggest unknown but assuming it is standards-compliant (which I expect it to be), hopefully the issues there are minimal as well (and would likely just be due to bugs in that very-new browser). I'm very excited that Microsoft is finally offering an evergreen browser though... that will be great for...

I've used the latest version of Microsoft Edge on various Hoop.la sites (and Hoo.do) and there are literally no errors in markup or visual differences with Chrome (the browser I use for default). Only thing that you may notice is Microsoft's 'ClearType' technology that's on by default. It tries to smooth out the edges of fonts to offer more readable text, but I don't like it myself. Otherwise I agree with Ted that it's a huge step forward from any version of Internet Explorer.

HI. I work on ACEs Connection and i had tried to log into the Beta site to review the new set up but it seems to not recognize my user name (which is the name that I have in my ACEs Connection Network account). Not sure what to do?
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Gail, for the beta sites, only the SuperAdmin account is recognized, so you need to login with that account (you can have the SuperAdmin set up a fresh password when you're done). If you need more help with this, please email [email protected] and we can troubleshoot with you.

Hello, I still cannot get this to work! This is what I'm posting into the " Custom Code For HEAD Section": div#horizontalNavMenuSecondaryWrapper { width:100%; } #menuWhitespaceTd .horizontalMenuWhitespace { display:none; } table.horizontalMenu { margin:auto; width:300px; } This code shows up ABOVE my forum banner, on all pages. Am I missing something??? Thank you in advance for all help!

That was a generous offer in my email Rosemary, of "one of the coolest, most challenging jobs on earth".(In the email that was sent to everyone who has a watch on Social Strata I would guess). Not sure I can fit in the post of 'community manager' in as I am a full time grandparent these days and looking after my kids is far and away more preferable than a similar job on the UK Big Brother forum.......... Good luck though

I've passed this tip on in another forum. It works fine for me (Firedox,Windows 7) but is not working for others. For instance it doesn't seem to work for ipads.

Neil, I genuinely appreciate what you have done here. CSS is a little beyond my knowledge envelope and I really don't understand where to find the things to change, as you have done here. I have used a couple of your custom CSS codes in our site, with a nice improvement in its appearance. I have run into one problem, however. I have placed this code into our site: .h-ubb-directory-forum-box { background-color:#ffffff;border:1px solid #555555;padding:15px; } .h-ubb-topic-list-box {...
