Reply to "Content Stream block"

Thanks ROSEMARY!

re: Noodling... yes! I have a volunteer who is going to "dig for hidden treasures" on our site to bring them to people's attention. Our site has a lot of good older content, and such things can easily get buried. What I WISH was that there was some way to "mark" certain posts and topics so that they would appear in a custom content stream to only displayed those marked items.

Another way to "sort of" do this is to create a topic dedicated to displaying links to "highlights of previously posted content" and then "extracting" that topic to the home page. But the problem is that the "extract" produces unformatted blocks of less-than-reader-friendly text.  If it preserved LINKS, for example, then I could just tell the volunteer to post a bullet list of links with descriptive titles.  As it stands now, I must create a CUSTOM HTML content block every time I want something linked and looking nice on our homepage.

Perhaps you have another idea.

ADD:  The extracts also take up a huge amount of space on the homepage. Would prefer a SINGLE (automated) homepage post that contained links to several new topics/posts. Not multiple extracts of single posts/topics stacked like cordwood.
