So blogs are popping up like mushrooms around you, and you don't know how to sort out the good ones from the time-wasters?  I feel your pain; that's why I'd like to share my 5 "go-to" blogs.  These are the ones that I read every single time they are updated, sometimes taking notes, pinning a paper copy on the bulletin board, forwarding to colleagues, RT'ing...you get the picture.

They may not exactly suit your needs, but if you're just starting to educate yourself about the world of social media, they will definitely get you pointed in the right direction.  And if you're anything like me, you'll find yourself clicking around their blogrolls, spending time finding even more great information.  I've avoided the usual suspects (like Chris Brogan and Seth Godin) because they get enough publicity, dude.

1. Social Media Examiner
Just because the graphics are cutesy, don't dismiss this powerhouse blog. It is always chock-full of information you can put to use immediately. Look for lots of Twitter strategies, statistics, and tips on leveraging your online presence in general.

2. The Social Customer
This one is a group effort, with guest blogs from all over the map. It's focused on customer service, but since I believe this is one of the strongest areas for social media efforts, it's very interesting. The variety of voices alone adds zest to the mix.

3.  KnowHR (from iFractal)
One of my absolute favorites. It takes a quirky approach to HR, and definitely with a social eye.  Every business owner should read this blog, if only for a good chuckle every day.  Look for topics on hard-core HR as well as communications and corporate mayhem.

4. Six Pixels of Separation
Mitch Joel at TwistImage writes this one, which covers digital media, branding, and a wide array of other subjects.  It's detailed, smart, and meaty...use it as an online university in digital marketing.  He's also got a book out of the same name, well worth the read.

5. SOB (Successful--and Outstanding Bloggers)
Liz Strauss has a cottage industry going, and there's a reason.  Her posts are always insightful and practical.  She treats people like humans, and that's a key part of her attraction.  Look for topics ranging from book reviews to small business pointers, from Liz and guest bloggers.

Do you have any favorite go-to blogs you'd like to share?  I'm always looking to expand my horizons!
