Making your Crowdstack site fill more of the browser window
DoJo Hi Rich and Neil, Is there any more documentation on this? I've been playing around with the CSS but my expertise in coding isn't good enough to get the desired effect. Getting closer to 100% of the screen width would be great. Anyway, don't hesitate to post back if you found some clever fixes 🙂 Regards, Dominic Jorge CTO Flower delivery Spain Madrid [ more ]
neil I have been able to figure out of couple of odd layout issues created by the site widening, but this one has me stumped (and may only be something Crowdstack can adjust). I haven't been able to figure out how to get IMAGES to automatically fill the width of a posting window when attaching them to a post. The images in question are wider than 600 pixels, but when I attach them and check "insert...large" they only display at 600px, which is less than the width of the posting window. Whereas,... Rich Melvin Thanks, Neil. Things are going well over at OGR. Traffic is stable and there's a lot of posting going on there. I'll play with this CSS and see what happens. [ more ]

Lori Hi, there! Yes, you (and your members) can get notifications for subgroups in the same way you do the main site: in your own account, go to Settings>>Notifications, and you'll see a tab for "SubGroup Follows". My website is down
Brian Lenz Hi Sandy, You can email [email protected] for support inquiries. We are currently experiencing performance issues with the Crowdstack Pro shared hosting environment. It's related to a partial hardware failure, and we are actively pursuing possible resolutions. I don't have an ETA as to when it might be resolved, but know that we will be working on it until everything is back to normal. Thanks for your patience and understanding, Brian [ more ]

Brian Lenz Hi @Harvey Mercado , The issue is that you have duplicate signing keys specified in the XML. You'll need to remove one of them, as it's not valid to have multiple signing keys. Hope this helps! Brian [ more ]
Harvey Mercado Thanks @Brian Lenz . One more thing, I am trying to upload a new metadata however, I'm getting the error below saying its invalid but cut short of telling me what exactly is invalid with this file and how to address it. I have attached the new metadata file here, in case you have the chance to check it out. Thanks again. [ more ]
Brian Lenz Hi @Harvey Mercado , There's a "backdoor" login form that you can use to sign in as an administrator to your Crowdstack: https://manchesterunity.crowds...n?showLoginForm=true You should be able to sign in there with your original Crowdstack email address and password, which should allow you in to the control panel to make further changes to your SSO integration. Using Crowdstack Blog to publish a club magazine?
Ted @ Crowdstack ❤️
Rosemary O'Neill Super cool idea John! Hopefully someone will chime in here...offhand, I like the way that @Paul Heymont at TravelGumbo incorporates the blog with their forums, maybe he could share a little insight. You can definitely copy in text and images to your blog, and organize the posts into "collections" with tags and dates. You can also store your PDFs in the Resource area, and those PDFs are indexed inside Crowdstack's search function (all of the text inside the PDFs). Crowdstack's notifications... [ more ]

Deprecating the Activity Stream
neil @Rich Melvin While I appreciate your appreciation, Rich, my reading of various posts from Julie, Plance, and you at OGR suggest that y'all are using the A.S. differently than we do (used to). Seems like you folks want some of the A.S.' functionality on User Profile Pages, whereas we liked it as a look-see widget on our homepage and embedded on a custom page. My eulogy doesn't mention your User Profile functions. That said, yes, I would love to see the "activity" publicly visible... [ more ]

Calculating advertising space, affiliate capacity, and resources to properly price per industry?
DBenoit Hi Rosemary, I'd be looking to run ad offerings for paid sponsors/adspace buyers, and not necessarily Google AdSense advertisements. I have to admit, I have not yet reviewed the blog regarding advertising on crowdstack! For the purpose of creating financial projections for my business plan, I need to know how to figure out how much advertising space exists/can be created with the foundation plan (to start) from which I can figure out advertising rates based on traffic rates and industry. Community Beta Testing and Crowdfunding Experiences?

Content Stream block
Rosemary O'Neill Ah, ok. We'll just consider this another "vote" for less extracty extracts then. No worries about posting over here, maybe someone else will weigh in with a brilliant workaround! [ more ]
neil Many of the "best of" are only posts, not the full topic. ☹️ Given the varied nature of this beast, looks like we have to post links manually via a custom HTML block, ...unless they ever decide to make the extract feature less "extracty." so that it preserves links and bulletin. And sorry for posting this in the "Discussions" area and not posting this in the Support area. [ more ]
Rosemary O'Neill Ok, interesting idea....I've got a couple of possible solutions. 1. Create a "Best of" forum (and don't allow regular members to post or comment in it). Move your "best" topics to that forum. Create a Content Block for that forum and put it on the home page. 2. Create a Custom HTML content block (one time) that contains 3-5 bullet point links and nicely formatted text paragraph (or sentence). On a weekly, monthly, or other basis, just replace the links and paragraphs with the new topics you... [ more ]
