Hi there,

I've noticed in some of our new communities/subgroups that the blog posts will suddenly disappear. When there are blogs posted initially they will show up and then all the blogs will be gone randomly:

When you click "All Blog Posts" you can see all the blogs again but they are still not appearing on the home page. The only setting I've found to fix this is if you go to Settings > Blog > then Checking off "Support Short Form Blog Posts''. Based on the description for short form posts I'm not sure why this fixes it but it does. Do you have any idea why this might happen or what we can do to prevent the blog posts from disappearing on the homepage?

Great, thanks for the extra info! I'll be sure to set everything back when I'm done.

One other question: are you ever changing permissions within these Subgroups (e.g. who can view blog posts)? One possible explanation could be permission changes contributing to the problem (because the blog posts displayed on the home page are cached).

I'll dig in a little further and see if I can come up with any other explanations...

I can see them now since I already "fixed" the problem earlier by checking off the short form post box. I couldn't see them (nor could my colleagues) until that box was checked off, which is weird. I only figured it out by trying a bunch of different things, such as deleting the content block for the blogs and then re adding it, which didn't work either.

Can you let us know the next time you see the issue occur? It's a bit hard to diagnose right now without seeing the problem in action and seeing what affects the home page. The next time it happens, we'll dig in again and see if we can identify the culprit.

Thanks for letting me know, Jenna! I've been able to gather all of the diagnostics we should need to fix the problem  It definitely appears to be a bug, so we'll see if we can get it fixed in an upcoming release.

We'll post back here to let you know when it's fixed. In the meantime, I think the only way around the problem is to enable Short-form Blog Posts as you have done in the past and re-save the Content Block settings. Once you do that, the blog posts should re-appear.
