Hi, Emma:

You can do both of those things...but you'll want to make sure that the groups have the proper permissions: If you post something from Group A into Group B, whether it's a cross-post or a widget, Group B will need to have the permissions to see the content from Group A.

Hope that helps!

Lori

Hi, Emma:

I was mistaken: you cannot cross-post in between groups, but you CAN share the content via a widgets. In order for that to happen, the group whose content you want to share has to either be public, or the people in the second group also have to belong to the first group.

To be clear, if you want to share Group A's content with Group B, then either Group A has to be a public group, or members of Group B must also be members of Group A, in order to view that content. Does that make sense?

Here's how you would create your widget:

Group A (either a public group, or a group with shared members from Group B): In the control panel, go to Manage Widgets, and create an embedded widget--choose the tab that says "Embedded Widgets", and click "Add Embedded Widgets". Then choose the type of widget you want. For our example, we'll use Forum Topics. Once you have the widget set up the way you want it, click on the tab that says Embed Code, and copy the code in the field.

Now go to Group B, to the Manage Widgets section, and add a Custom Widget by clicking "Add Custom Widget". Give it a title and paste the embed code into the Widget Content/HTML field. Display in the box if you like, with the title, and click Update Widgets.

Now, still in Group B, go to the page where you want to add the widget, and you'll see that custom widget as an option when you go to add a widget to the page.

I'm sorry for confusing you with my initial response!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Lori
