Hi, Chris:
If you click the button in your control panel to switch to Digest Mode, you'll get this information in a popup:
Your Crowdstack currently allows your members to subscribe to content by type, with separate subscription settings for each type (forums, blog, resources, etc.). While this is powerful, it can be confusing for members and can be hard to manage.
We recommend moving to Digest Mode, which sends a weekly or daily βWhatβs Newβ email digest of new content (spanning all content types) posted to your site, sorted by popularity. This is a simpler, but more meaningful, system for your members. It also still gives them the ability get instant notifications about new comments for content they follow and/or people they follow. In addition, there is an option to be instantly notified about every piece of content, if desired.
If you move to Digest Mode, all of the current module-specific notifications your members have set will be canceled and all of your members will be auto-subscribed to the weekly edition of βWhatβs Newβ on your Crowdstack. They will be able to switch to a daily version or to choose no digest, if they wish.
WARNING: Though we recommend this change, it is irrevocable. You cannot go back once you make the switch."
If you switch to Digest Mode, your members will have to re-subscribe to anything they want to follow specifically, and they can also opt out of the Digests, as stated above.
If you are considering the switch, maybe you could do an informational post to your members, so they aren't surprised, and you could tell them how to change to a daily digest, if they want, or opt out and choose their own notifications.
Hope that helps!
Lori
