Sometimes I want to reply to a long post and prefer to quote the original post, and then split the quote so I can insert comments. I found a trick for doing it. It's super easy. Reply with Quote Click where you want to split the quoted text. Press Enter once Press Left Arrow once Press Enter three times. This will split the quote and leave space for you to type something inside the split. This makes it easy to reply to a long post like this. Here's a video. Enjoy! Of course, if you know of...
Hi all, Not urgent at all. My community is going to stick with only supporting like reactions. I would like to change the emoji to thumbs up. But when I add my CSS, I get this error. "Your request contains invalid 4-byte characters (e.g. Emoji characters). Please go back, remove those special characters, and try your request again." Is there any way around this? Here is my code /*Love Icon*/ .emoji { visibility: hidden; position: relative; } .emoji:after { visibility: visible; position:...
Yeah Harold I 2nd 3rd and 4th that!! (I have a multiple personality) Arghhhh!! I got.. This cannot be happening!! The system is not responding, so your request could not be completed at this time. Please try again later. <button class="x-btn-text" id="ext-gen370">OK</button> <button class="x-btn-text" id="ext-gen378"></button> <button class="x-btn-text" id="ext-gen386"></button> <button class="x-btn-text" id="ext-gen394"></button>
Hello Could you please explain just how the new ‘multi quote’ function can be used when you wish to quote from a previous page, as well as the current page? This is often the case especially when a new page has only one or two post on it. I know that you can post a quote from a previous page; we need to be able to quote from more than one page. Having the posting page tied to the current page (crazy) prevents me from being able to do this as the first quote selected cannot survive the page...
We have a support forum for our users. Unfortunately, some of the very people who need support seem to resist posting, or are confused by important things like remembering to "follow" their topic to get notification of responses. We also use graphic how-to's -knowing many don't read carefully. Our #1 support request is to "unsubscribe" or cancel memberships. We really wish Hoopla would allow users to unsubscribe/cancel themselves. Automation of that process would be more support-friendly.
Hi Augie- We will let you know via the existing support ticket for that request when "post preview" is implemented: https://hey.crowdstack.com/s...ewing-before-posting Thanks!
I've passed this tip on in another forum. It works fine for me (Firedox,Windows 7) but is not working for others. For instance it doesn't seem to work for ipads.
Hi EL LORO, I tested this in Windows 10, all of these are working for me. Windows Edge Firefox Google Chrome Opera It also works in the mobile device emulators here: http://mobiletest.me/htc_one_emulator/ I don't own any Apple devices so I can't test or report on them from direct experience. Interestingly, I use a great product called ActiveWords . It allows you to create keyboard shortcuts. It is similar to AutoHotKey. When I created an ActiveWord for (Enter, Left Arrow, Enter x 3) the...
I've since discovered that with browsers other than Google Chrome, I can split a quote by placing the cursor where you want to break the quote, then press Enter three times. This is much simpler. Try it, it may work for you
#3 "request deletion of all of their content by the admin" is a problem for message threads where a user's content is critical to the rest of the user's messages in that thread. They should not have the right to ruin other people's contributions if their post is important or replied to. What I would suggest is that they have the right to remove their NAME from posted content, not the content itself, in order to make their content anonymous. At our 'lesson' content site, we view all posts as...
That item is a "request" by the member for the admin to delete their content. You can refuse to delete their content, if you feel it's within your rights. We're just providing the mechanism that will support compliance with GDPR; what you choose to do with it is your decision as the owner/admin. Unfortunately, when technological solutions are legislated, they don't always think of the consequences for all scenarios. Sadly, online communities were not really given deep consideration when...
@Julie Usher - please request a demo site to test Card Mode by creating a new support topic. This goes for any other existing customers that might want to kick the tires. Please note that we won't be able to set you up with a demo site though until after Card Mode is officially released (which should be soon). We will give access to a free demo site for two weeks, so only request it once you are ready to spend time to properly test it. Thanks!
I'm not ready to test it right now (it's coming at the busiest time of the year . . .), so it sounds like I shouldn't set up a support topic just yet. And I'm not able to monitor this site in the next few weeks to know when you release it. I think it would make more sense for you to open up a thread on the topic for everyone once you've released the feature - and just ask people to comment there if/when they want to test it. Thanks!
Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it. We're currently setting up IdP SAML SSO on our side. Btw, what do we need to enter as destination url when sending request to crowdstack? Also, do we need to set the issuer, audience restriction, etc. in crowdstack as well? I have found a sample implementation on OpenSAML IdP-initiated SSO for Okta that I'm currently using as reference and its using issuer, destinationUrl, audienceRestriction, etc. along with the keystore for signing. I...
Hi @Harvey Mercado , What Destination URL are you referring to? Are you referring to the SAML Assertion? If so, Crowdstack doesn't use Destination URL. Note that the Assertion Consumer Service URL is defined in your Crowdstack SAML metadata, which is found at the /saml/metadata path in Crowdstack. I don't know which Crowdstack you're affiliated with or I would provide the direct URL to you. Crowdstack doesn't put any requirements on the Issuer or Audience. You will need to make sure the...
Thanks Brian. This is the crowdstack account where we would like to setup the SSO: Home | Manchester Unity (crowdstack.io) I was checking it out and wondering where I could get the Crowdstack SAML metadata and find the ACS Url as mentioned in your last reply. Can you please help where I could find this file and url? Also, where can I see the Request ID that is to be returned? Is this the ID in the SAML Response like the one highlighted below? < samlp: Response xmlns: samlp = "...
Hi @Harvey Mercado , You can find the Crowdstack SP SAML metadata here: https://manchesterunity.crowdstack.io/saml/metadata Since Crowdstack will be performing the AuthnRequest s, Crowdstack will define the Request ID. You just have to make sure you match your Assertion response to the Request ID it corresponds to. Hope this helps! Brian
Hi @Harvey Mercado , You won't be able to do an IdP-initiated login request, which is what you're asking for. I wouldn't worry about this auto-sign in scenario just yet. I'd focus first on the basics of getting the SAML IdP AuthnRequest processing and Assertion response working. Get that set up and working. Then , you can start looking at how to handle automatic logins. When you get there, you'll have a couple of options: Probably the best option is to enable "Auto Sign-In Mode" in...
