Wow the page views is a wonderful addition, thank you so much. Is this tallying ONLY those who click and read at the website and NOT those who read it via email?
  • Blog Post Comment
The page views will increment when a user views a topic/blog/clip via the website (standard or mobile). We do not track page views for users viewing the a post via email notification.

As I told in the "What would you like us to do next"? survey last month, a webspace manager is just what I was looking for. Amazing to see it implemented so quickly!

Recommendation Engine. Do I have to pay extra for this? It looks useful but surely based on the monthly fee this would be a normal integration as part of the development of the site? Could you let me know?

I like what I see but fail to comprehend why dogfood is needed.. Do Sharks like dogfood?

We're still working on pricing details...more info to come on that. James, sharks will eat ANYTHING, right?

We have a support forum for our users. Unfortunately, some of the very people who need support seem to resist posting, or are confused by important things like remembering to "follow" their topic to get notification of responses. We also use graphic how-to's -knowing many don't read carefully. Our #1 support request is to "unsubscribe" or cancel memberships. We really wish Hoopla would allow users to unsubscribe/cancel themselves. Automation of that process would be more support-friendly.

Any update on getting a preview feature for posting topics/replies?
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Augie- We will let you know via the existing support ticket for that request when "post preview" is implemented: https://hey.crowdstack.com/s...ewing-before-posting Thanks!

Nice changes! One question: If you don't have groups or portfolios enabled, and added the Community Logo, is it possible to go back to using no logo at all (like on this site)?
  • Blog Post Comment
Slaz- Yes, definitely. The logo is only required currently if you have groups or portfolios enabled.

Ah, sorry for being a bit vague, but I meant that I already fiddled with the feature and added a test logo. Is it possible to remove the set logo and go back to using no logo at all? I can find an edit button next to the set logo, but that doesn't seem to allow removal of the logo.

Hi Slaz- Sounds like just something we need to fix. We probably just need to add a delete option for that scenario. These sorts of things are really better suited for our support site, but I will go ahead and add that to our to-do list so we can fix it.
  • Blog Post Comment
Ah, sorry for bringing it up here. Thanks for adding it to the list though!

Hi Slaz, We just deployed the fix so that you can remove the community logo now. Thanks again for bringing it to our attention! Brian

Thank you Brian! And not related to this release yet still important: Merry christmas to you and your colleagues!

Sounds good! Yet I hope this 'phasing stage' allows us to make and test a new theme prior to the permanent rollout. Otherwise visitors might feel like they're visiting a different site instead of an updated version of the site they know. That's how important themes are. In my eyes, themes are a site's soul in an otherwise faceless body of information. Maybe make a 'test site' of some sort when the final product is ready? This would allow preparation of a fresh theme without your main site...

Hi Slaz- Yes, indeed. The whole point of the staging area will be to allow you to create/test themes and custom CSS on the responsive platform prior to actually moving your site onto it.

Great news Ted, I look forward to seeing how you handle things so I can gather more ideas to use in my own updates Question, in the last few days I updated to windows 10. Have you encountered any issues going with existing RD coding? Or is Windows 10 behaving.. lol

Hi JC- No, we have not seen any issue with Windows 10 so far, though of course there is still much more testing to do. I don't really expect many issues though. The new Edge browser is still the biggest unknown but assuming it is standards-compliant (which I expect it to be), hopefully the issues there are minimal as well (and would likely just be due to bugs in that very-new browser). I'm very excited that Microsoft is finally offering an evergreen browser though... that will be great for...

I've used the latest version of Microsoft Edge on various Hoop.la sites (and Hoo.do) and there are literally no errors in markup or visual differences with Chrome (the browser I use for default). Only thing that you may notice is Microsoft's 'ClearType' technology that's on by default. It tries to smooth out the edges of fonts to offer more readable text, but I don't like it myself. Otherwise I agree with Ted that it's a huge step forward from any version of Internet Explorer.

HI. I work on ACEs Connection and i had tried to log into the Beta site to review the new set up but it seems to not recognize my user name (which is the name that I have in my ACEs Connection Network account). Not sure what to do?
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Gail, for the beta sites, only the SuperAdmin account is recognized, so you need to login with that account (you can have the SuperAdmin set up a fresh password when you're done). If you need more help with this, please email [email protected] and we can troubleshoot with you.

I love this system of being able to give feedback. I love feeling insidery. I've had a couple of sites that have been really important to me and have been wonderful in so many ways, but with both of them I felt like I was shouting into the wind when I wanted to have some input into what I needed. Even though I haven't been here long enough to see a suggestion of mine come to fruition, I'm still getting feedback on whether you guys think it's a good idea, and if so, then at least letting me...

Excellent! Any projected time frame for roll out? We want to be beta testers!! Lynda
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Lynda- Your site will be set up on our upgrade/beta server around the end of August, assuming current projections hold up. While on that server, you will be able to create new theme(s) and change other settings so you can see what your site looks like on the new codebase. Then, once that "upgrade/beta" period ends, we will start the process of upgrading all live sites to the new codebase (and we will bring over all new themes/settings you set on that beta/upgrade server over automatically...

Re: Responsive Project Update I feel your pain Ted. I'm facing the reworking of 3 sites to be responsive. All I can say is this better not be a fad like previous "new methods" from the past that came and went. LOL That said, it does make sense to be as versatile as possible. Our audience is no longer PC/Mac, it is mobile and beyond. We simply cannot be without a connection to whatever it is we simply must have access to. Anyone remember Mosaic, the good old days. Only one browser.. lol
