Notifying Members When Banning
nanalyly Clearly state the reason for the ban. Use specific language to explain the violation of rules or policies that led to the decision. Transparency helps members understand the situation. connections [ more ]

LanceOwners I would also like to support this suggestion. I would also add that this same behavior should take place when declining an applicant to our forums. I would actually like to see that any time you perform a negative action, the admin is presented with a choice to notify or not. Thanks for suggesting this @GidgetKat . Great suggestion. [ more ]

Add additional members to private message thread
Maria Oah Yes @tabla8719 !! Exactly. [ more ]
tabla8719 Currently the volunteers will send private messages to folks to remind them/gather conversation ideas. In an ideal world, we could have one private message group thread for these updates (so not to spam the full community). We want to be able to continue to add people and let them drop out of the private chat if they want, similar to FB messenger group chats. Currently, we can't add more people after a group message has been started. [ more ]

Please Add Ability to Clone Database Structures
Julia M Usher I am just talking about cloning the database setup/structure (not the data in it), so it is ready to receive new data. I use the same structure over and over for different online events that I run. [ more ]
Rosemary O'Neill There may be a misunderstanding here...in Crowdstack databases there is no scripting. The interface for creating and managing databases is simply a series of checkboxes and menus, meant to be used by non-coders. I'm not sure what you're referring to as 'scripting'. [ more ]

picopa88 Maybe that group of guests have visited the same server and the auto-login memo data is still ongoing, just set the logout and limit to one login device and it will work properly. [ more ]

Lori Hi, Caitlin: Do both of users involved share a computer? If so, what may be happening is that the forwarder is logged in on your community site on the computer in question, and when the forwardee sits down and clicks the email, it'll open in the forwarder's account automatically. If this is not what happened (e.g. there is no sharing of machines), please email us at [email protected] or [email protected] so that we can discuss the specific details in a private support ticket. Guest sign in option on RB Crowdstack
Thomas David Thanks [ more ]
Rosemary O'Neill Hi Amy I'm going to answer in the support email we have going, but just in case anyone else had a similar question....go to your Settings, under Basics, and choose "Private" rather than "Public." That will put the entire community behind a login, so that "guests" or "visitors" can't see anything without registering. If you want to prevent new registrations, or limit to invitation-only, you can also go in Settings, to Registration Settings, and tick the box to restrict those options as well. [ more ]

Add Convenient Permissions Notes to Forum Topics View in Control Panel
frederickeroberts 👍
neil Thanks. That's a helpful reminder... but it's definitely a lot to wade through and not quick to get through and scroll down through. Whereas, as seen in the screenshot below, you have given us this other ubiquitous link to a "Configure..." our categories and forums --that leads to a much better/easier page layout of the categories and forum to manipulate and also lets us change permissions. I use the ubiquitous link almost every day, which is why I wish it has the existing permission info... [ more ]
Brian Lenz Hi @neil , I think all of the details you're looking for are already available in the Settings > Permissions > Topics section of your control panel: /cp/permissions/topics That page gives you a breakdown of all categories and forums, along with their permissions. It's not exactly the format you're describing, but it contains all of the info you're looking for. Note that it's a single page with all of your forums listed, so if you have a large number of forums, you'll have to be patient... [ more ]

More Info in the RECENT POSTS Widget
neil On a related note, it would be great if the Recent Post widget displayed a link to "See More Recent Posts" (than what you set to appear in the widget). The old display posts/replies feature had a "display all" link and it was very handy. Currently, you preset the widget to display a fixed number of posts (up to 50), but invariably our leaders are looking for something that posted "a few days ago" and it has scrolled off the "show last 10" setting we have for that widget. (Yes, we could... [ more ]

Brian Lenz Hi Derek, You can set a sitemap.xml via the robots.txt file, which is configurable in your Crowdstack control panel under Settings > Analytics & Ads > Robots.txt. Here's some info about that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...ion_standard#Sitemap https://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.html Hope this helps! Brian [ more ]
