As of October 31, 2011,  Facebook will be removing the discussions tab from its interface.  Based on the announcement, it appears they have decided that all discussions should be occurring via wall posts and replies.  The app currently has around 22 million active users per month, and the content that many pages have accumulated will simply disappear.  As of right now, Facebook has offered no means of exporting the data.

Guess there might be a lot of copy-pasting going on right now.

May I humbly suggest that the more appropriate venue for forums is Hoop.la?  We feel very strongly that discussion forums have an important place in the community management toolbox (along with blogs, social network accounts, chat, and media sharing).  If you want long-lasting, deep-dive content for your members, a Facebook wall just isn't going to cut the mustard.

If you have a community that is about to be orphaned/vaporized by the Facebook changes, please feel welcomed here.

We believe in forums, and we'd love to have you!

Thanks for the invitation to Hoop.la. Definitely I will be checking all its features, but I am happy with the way Facebook is. I know discussion forums have an important place in the community management toolbox. But hear I think you are misguiding the readers. Is social strata hosted on a cloud computing strategy platform. Facebook is not doing anything to trouble its users. They are making some changes for the good. There is an app available for saving your discussions, no need to spend time in doing copy paste.
